Had to replace a battery yesterday in the cold on the 2.0L escape before the extra cold hit today. I am so thankful I did too, but curse ford for putting batteries under the windshield cowl where you have to remove several things before you can get it out. Had to do it in 2 parts. Removal, then get the new one and install. Too cold for working on cars....

yeah they do not make batteries easy to service anymore.  kudos on getting it done!
