Horrible braking

Not surprised about the brakes and rotors.  Shaking while braking is pretty much always the rotors.

$75 for a cabin air filter though?  $40 for labor?!  Are they changing by the second for labor?

Those are some ridiculously expensive prices.  And I bet that coolant flush is really just a radiator drain and fill.  Not a full flush.

$800 for brakes and rotors installed.  You could do that same job in an hour or two and about $200 - $250 in parts from rockauto.  Even if you don't want to do it yourself, buy the parts and bring it to a mechanic that will and probably for under $200.  That cuts $400-$600 off your bill right there.

You don't need any tools to do an air filter or cabin air filter.  Both should cost you about $25 from rock auto and should take 5 minutes combined to install both.  That cuts another $75 off your bill.

If it were me, I'd tell your dealership to get lost and go somewhere else.  These are all pretty basic things any mechanic could do for much much cheaper.

Yep that's the quote they gave me for everything that "needed" to be done. I only allowed them to do the oil change and tensioner+belt out the door here is what I paid.

Additionally I just left Advance auto parts and got a quote for the parts needed for brakes and an air filter and this is their prices.

I forgot to mention the labor charge is absolutely insane considering they told me it would take about an hour and a half to two hours to complete the tensioner+belt replacement. They were done in a lil over 30 minutes.

If they charged time by the book, they have the right to do so.  Experienced mechanics can finish jobs much faster, sure, but they are entitled to a return on investment also.

As far as Advance Auto/Autozone/Pep Boys etc, they always have a 15-40% coupon running if you order online/pickup from store etc.  So make use of that!

I couldnt help notice the name of the dealer, makes you really wonder what planet there really from with those prices, but they do come with a 3 year warranty on parts and labor.  Z

Spoke to my brother in ft hood he said i should've called him first. So when he comes my way he will be bringing tools to knock this stuff out free of charge. I just gotta buy the parts is all.

Make sure you have that twist and turn caliper tool to do the rear brakes.  I wasted a couple hours of aggravation learning that the hard way.  You can rent one at autozone for free if you don't want to buy it.  Just call ahead of time to make sure they have some in stock to rent out.
