How fast have you had your SHO?

So as it says.....How fast have you had your SHO up to? What differential do you have in it, 2.77 or 3.16 final drive? Looking to hear more from the tuned guys. How much boost?

I've had mine to 140mph at about 18 psi and it was slightly up hill when data logging...I was close to the top of 5th gear I have 3.16 FD...It was still pulling pretty good.

1,000,000 mph

This is a  NO NO topic on this forum .

Oh really? Sorry I didn't know that....I figured most people tried it out at the track or at least somewhere in the Midwest where there are speed limit signs that say "reasonable and prudent". So there was no law breaking going on.

Mine was on a county airport runway so that's where I figured most guys were doing it.

I had to google IBTL.

I just thought it was something that people would want to know...Didn't really see the harm in it...Other forums talk about it all the time....Doesn't have to mean people are on public roads doing harm...Even if they were I don't see what that has to do with the forum.

I'm confused?

No worries. If you do it legal then that's all good. It's the not legal or potential legal fallout that can come from a thread that has people on edge. There was a thread just like this one before that went up in flames.

It's still a "tender" topic. Hah.

Unfortunetly there are protocols and guidlines to follow respectively twards the board and administrator,so in order we have to respect the rules and regulations terms of agreedments, thank you.

So maybe we should have a thread for fastest top speed at a controlled event on a closed track.  I don't see how that would be any different than posting 1/4 mile times.  People could also post info on such events. I would certainly be interested in seeing how fast I could get my SHO up to.

If you have the time and money there are events like this

I'm surprised so many people would be offended by this thread.

I was browsing the "Kill of the day: ecoboost vs the world" and I was surprised to see all the talk about street racing. That's about as bad as it gets to some people. And I'm sure it's not happening in mexico. If you are cited for street racing where I live it's an automatic license suspension.

On Svtperformance there is a thread called smack down café and nothing is off limits. There are even people that reach out to people's work places and suggest that off duty law enforcement visit people's homes in an attempt to intimidate them.....I thought a top speed forum was pretty harmless lol.

Its not a matter of anyone being offended it just that certain moderators have safety and liability concerns for the forum  owner .
This topic has been brought up in the past before resulting in it being locked..... see below                                http://www.ecoboostperformanceforum.com/index.php/topic,3839.0/topicseen.html

Sorry but I disagree. This goes on everyday, everywhere and on other forums. If I get caught speeding nobody will care about this forum thread. I and only I will be held accountable.

It's fine with me if forum owner doesn't like this on his forum, and that should be respected, but there is NO liability concerns for anybody except the perpetrator. So I apologize for starting the thread. But to say there is a liability concern is just a cop out so the owner doesn't have to say they are personally offended by this type of thread and behavior.

I read the moderator's view in the other thread just now and it is clear that they are offended by public speeding and felt compelled to give the reasons why.....Although they may be good reasons it's the prerogative of the people to do what they want and it's a shame we can't be entertained on the forum for the people that are curious.

If you lock things like this and liability is truly a concern I would get rid of Kill of the Day right away so forum owner doesn't lose any personal assets in a court proceeding and is viewed as street racing ring leader

To me kill of the day is something that's gonna happen regardless of what's on whatever forum.

As to how fast have you had you SHO/whatever, could turn into a competition to post the highest speed.

In that sense I can see the concern in not wanting to host that discussion.

I could see posting results from some of the high speed contests around the country not being an issue though.

So you're petitioning to get rid of kill of the day?

To me personally sounds like there trying to petition this whole forum based on othere's having a more lenient prospective protocols.

I think the point is that to encourage one illegal speed activity over another and to disallow another is not correct.

Speed kills PERIOD .

Statistically far more people are killed Annually across America in street racing and "kill"  encounters that any top speed attempts, primarily due to age and poor judgment pertaining to conditions and location.

Posting of top speeds at legally sanctioned events with proof should be accepted but I know of NO EcoBoost owner that has done so.                                                                                                                                                                                                                I have no problem with kill of the day ....

I think what is continually missed is that this is not some government owned public forum where freedom of speech applies. This is a paid for forum(where you are not even required to pay to participate) by the owner. If certain rules and methods have been established then that's what it is. Freedom of speech is not an entitlement on these types of forums. It's just like commenting on a news article, if your comment is not in line with their rules and views it will be removed. Plain and simple. I personally see no point in arguing this and pointing out why one thread is allowed or why other forums allow other things, to me it's just to argue. I would have found a more productive way such as making a poll and seeing if their is a group of people big enough to warrant a thread such as this. Even then it will still be at the owners discretion. Just my thoughts and suggestion on maybe turning this into something productive instead of an argument over opinions
