Intelligent AWD Gauge Possible?

This is from the 2013 Taurus service manual:

AWD Gauge

The AWD gauge displays the level of power applied to each wheel. The IPC uses the following inputs to determine the AWD gauge display:

- wheel torque data
- AWD lock torque
- engine rpm data
- speedometer fault

As power is applied to the wheels, the area directly in front of each displayed wheel begin to fill in. The lowest power displayed is the closest to the wheel. As the amount of power sent to the wheels increases, the area fills in either forward (front wheels) or rearward (rear wheels) of the wheels.

Per the manual it is disabled by default and only configurable by as built data.  My question is....is anyone familiar with a Ford product that has this feature and a very similar one that doesn't.  Id love to figure this out and get it displayed.

Yeah just need to know what bit in the as built data for the IPC to change.

Nice :thumb:  This is on the 2013+ only at this time, correct?  Good to have visual confirmation of what you feel is going on with traction.

In situations that this gauge would be outputting any meaningful data, the last place I would want to be looking is my gauge cluster. Don't feel like I am missing out on too much here.

By modifying the as built data in the IPC using dealer tools.

I do agree with SRT, but it would be a cool feature for demos.
jrm.... Are you saying the dealer can enable this on my '13 SHO and that he will?

Whether or not they will I have no idea. They won't know how to do it. I'd need ur vin to see see what changes need to be made. Some dealers are clueless when it comes to as built data.

If you are interested in this get me your vin. Your dealer will need to use IDS and a VCM2 to make the changes. They should know what this is. Again whether your dealer has the smarts to do this is another thing. I have heard some know how to manually enter ABD data and some don't.

I also enabled engine and idle hours tracking. However when it's first turned on it starts at zero. It doesn't keep tracks unless it's on.

Good data to have for correlating with oil condition?  Is the brake monitor already present?  What all does it check?
