Was wonder if this should be covered since I have the Maint. plan and have 20K miles and vehicle is only 2.5 years old.

Not under B to B but should be under maintenance plan if it isn't.

Under Ford's ESP Premium Maintenance plan it is, like all the other filters and "wear and Tear" items...All scheduled maintenance is covered ......... but not under extended warranty.

I have both.

how much was Ford's ESP Premium Maintenance plan? i just did my plugs at ford for 300 so im thinking id probably get my moneys worth.

Yeah, you have to factor in the service intervals.  PTU fluid never needs to be replaced, spark plugs at 100K, transmission fluid at 150K ... all the important ones are WAY out there.

Best to price it online and at a dealer... but it's cheaper that the dealer cost by a longshot if you keep the car... 7yr/70K mile likely $1K-$2K

I thought the SHO was every 30k for trans fluid?
