Is the Livernois tune as good as people say?

All,
If you read my other posts, you know I'm a new SHO owner.  I want to add a tune and it seems the Livernois tune is the one everyone suggest.  Is it as good a people say?  Also, do I have to change or gap the plugs and replace the thermostat?
Thanks,
Chuck

Livernois  or Unleased by Torrie are popular Tuners with members .

One step colder iridium plugs gaped at .030 and 170 t-stat recommended.

corrected above gap from 35

it's a good tune.  It's the one I'm currently using.  Torrie at unleashed also has very good tunes.  I don't think you could go wrong with either tuner.  It's the best bang for the buck and the basis for other mods, as the tunes can be revised.

Seems like I need to go ahead and pull the trigger on the tune.  The car drives so good now I cant imagine more power and better shifts. I'll definitely get the plugs and thermostat since that seems to be highly recommended by everyone as well.

I thought the recommended gap was .030 ?

I've had a Livernois tune since my car had 6300 miles on it and I won't change for the world, I love it and the service I got from Livernois, however, I would also purchase and trust a tune from Unleashed Tuning any time, Torrie has a great record with his tunes and has very good service!

I believe LMS does recommend the spark plug gap to be .030 and definitely a heat range cooler.  It is to prevent misfires and spark blowout at increased boost.  Also helps the ECM prevent detonation.  OEM is .035

The shifting is the better part of the tunes.  I put mine back to stock the other day, and couldn't believe how slow and dragging the factory shifting is.

How are the tunes on the sports when it gets very cold out from what I remember ken have a lot of issues my biggest fear would be rough idle and surging

Im thinking of getting my tunes from lms. I like how there are multiple stages I wanna play it more on conservative side and probably max out at stage 4. Do you need to get thermostat and .030 gaps with stage 4 and below. I thought it was just 4+

The current LMS tunes are 91 & 93 octane closest to 4+ per Dan.  I'd at least gap the plugs for sure as insurance against predetonation.

When I called LMS and asked if I needed the plugs gapped and cooler thermo they assured me I didn't have to do it- since the tune my car runs smoother and I'm averaging 18 mpg. The car runs like a bat out of hell so there is no way I'm changing a thing and she never runs hot. Guess I'm lucky!

You do not need to do plugs and TStat for any LMS tunes up through Stage 4+ but like BiGMaC said, it would be wise to make sure your plugs are gapped at 30.
