Is v10 Tune Available for '13+ SHO?

BigMac --

I have a 2014 SHO, and I am running the v10 tune. They asked me to try it out based on some things that have been going on. Here is my feedback to Livernois from this week:

-------------------------------
What I like:
1. It seems the shift points are much more solid from gear to gear. The car doesn't wait as long for 2-3 in the RPM band.
2. In stop and go traffic, the car doesn't seem to be as happy to upshift, which is actually kind of nice.

What I'm seeing:
1. I'm still getting popping at WOT but it's not 100% of the time. For example, yesterday I raced a 2015 Porche Panorama Turbo S (which smoked me off the line by the way), but I did not have any popping what-so-ever. Where-as a few days earlier I was hitting the on ramp and it was popping again between 2nd and 3rd gear (65-75ish MPH).

2. When the car is popping, I'm noticing that the shifts are no longer "waiting for a particular RPM to change gears". Rather, the popping is less, and the shift comes quicker. That's the best I can explain it. I'm planning on getting video from the outside of the car showing the pops with v10 soon.

-------------------------------

I'd also be curious what was adjusted so I can help pin point the issue.

Also forgot to add -- I'm still needing to change out my plugs. I haven't been using my car a lot given my travel and work schedule has been insane. So, that is still in the works.

The best of my knowledge the V9 tune is the latest and newest tune out for the SHO,the same goes for the X-Sport which received a new V4 Tune a few months back, personally was one of the first ones to receive the V9 tune back in Nov and no mention of a V10 in the works.  Z

Looks like you are ill-informed then Z...good luck finding out what was adjusted from lms ....they didnt even want to say what there fan coolant settings were when there was a general discussion a while back about thermostats....wouldnt want the tune to be exposed due to revealing a fan setting

AJ not quite sure what the issue is but its all good.  Z  :)

Nothing...just saying 14shocar already has the v10 it appears...you better get on the horn and get your update Z!

That not truly accurate. I am working with the v10 as a courtesy to them. That or it was placebo.... I'm planning on doing plugs in the next few weeks to see if this corrects the issue.

FYI, I shot a PM off to LME regarding v10. Here is Anthony's reply.  Apparently some SHOs from '13 on have a different factory tune... And not all respond the same to v10. Here's the PM reply:

v9 is the most current tune available for most all of the 2013-15 SHO models.  There were a select few guys that claimed to have some WOT hesitation like they were running out of fuel. SO if you have v9 and are getting any type of hesitation please shoot me your request over to info@ or tuning@livernoismotorsports.com

So v9 is the best tune out unless you are having a stutter / hesitation which we have a revision to resolve that.  The calibrator said he found some things that were actually causing it in a select few SHOs.  Not all strategies have this same factory glitch that we were actually able to duplicate on another vehicle here with the same factory code as him, which our shop car will not do no matter how hard we've tried on v9.

Feel free to give me a call / email if you would like to discuss this further and I would be glad to help.

Thanks,
Anthony @ LMS

I may give him a call as I have held off v9 because of hearing the problem alluded to in the reply.

As it was explained I'd more detail v9 came about from tuning a local customer's SHO because he wanted something a little hotter for the strip... Some cars apparently have a slightly different set of OEM parameters and didn't respond well at WOT... V10 is the fix for them. LME was able to prove the software problem on some SHOs, but not on those without the "stuttering at WOT" problem under v9 as I understand it. I don't have any demographics on the cars.

Kind of interested in the fact that lms was pretty hard in their stance that the tune is fine and that 14 shocar didnt follow instructions  but now there is a potential tune revision?

The PM is there. LMS owns multiple SHOs and was nor able to reproduce the symptom on their cars... V10 is apparently a revision of v9, only just released, for a problem with a limited number of vehicles... So if you're running v9 and happy you probably should leave it alone.

Valuable info indeed, BiGMaC!  Serves as a reminder not to take things for granted.  Ford can and will make running changes in production, so sometimes you have to look closely at what YOUR car has on it vs. relying on a catalog or production data.
