find an old hockey puck and cut a slot in it.

I went this route with my XSport. First time I tried jacking it up, I went to put the jack stand under the pinch weld, and it sliced right through the hockey puck on the jack. It happened over several seconds. Just long enough to make me wonder "is the car dropping??" At first, I thought I was bending the pinch weld. As I was crapping my pants, I quickly let the jack down and realized my puck was now in two pieces. :/

The remaining 4 slotted pucks went straight in the trash.

I did! 

I have the 5500lb model and the max span is shorter than the space between the two lift pads. I got it to work, but I wasn't happy. I'll see if there's a better solution next time.

WRT the lift in general, it's the best money I've ever spent. I just need to solve the long-a$$-car problem
