Liftoff!!!

The first time my kids rode in my car (6 and 3) they said "daddy, your car is like a rocket taking off!"  So I got a vanity plate that says liftoff.

On the way to take the 3 year old to his Grandma's there is a traffic light on a 60mph highway (you can see where this is going).  We were lucky enough to be the first car waiting for the green light! 

I say "hold on buddy prepare for lift off!"
Shift into S
Turn light goes from green to yellow
Hold 2000 RPM
Green light!
Floor it, let go of brake
vrOOOOOOOM
"daddy"
OOOOOOOM
"Daddy"
OOOOOOOM
"Daddy!"
OOOOOOOM
I let off the gas around 80
"DADDY!!!!"
"Yes buddy?"
"That makes me smile!"
"Me too buddy, me too."

Love this story! Last night I had my brother and two nephews and wile cruising the streets we decided to time a zero to 60 with a full car. Take in mind one of my nephews weighs 270 lbs and I have a 35lb spare in the trunk. We got a rough time of 5.5 seconds and my brother who rebuilds engines for a living was blown away at the power from a 6 cyl! Yes these cars launch!
