Livernois Motorsports Tuner Specs

I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on this, but had a question, is it possible to get both the 93 and 91 tunes? I can get 93 only at a few gas stations, so it would be nice if I knew I couldn't get 93 I could use the 91 tune...

Absolutely.  Most of us have multiple tunes for that same reason.  When you first load the tune, it takes a bit longer because it will save the stock tune prior to installing the custom tune.  After that, switching from one tune to another is quicker.

So what makes the 4+ more dangerous then the 4?  Is the higher boost at shift point hard on the transmission slamming into the next gear?

91 vs 93 tunes, is their that much difference or could you just use the 91 to be a bit safer and available gas compatible?

Switching tunes, doesn't that reset your ltft and other learned data points?

2013 sport mode, whats the shifter do if you go from d to s?  nothing now?

I don't know but for the 2013, there's no such thing as "stages"

I run 91 tune for 10 months. Switch to 93 recently and there is a difference. Not an "OH MY GOD" difference but still worth the try. I am keeping the 93 tune from now on!

From stock to 91 tune it did. Not sure it did from 91 tune to 93 though in my case.

In "S" mode, the throotle response and throotle sensitivity are increase. Also, it will hold RPM in lower gears for a bit and won't shift into 6th. It seems to downshift faster also.

HTH

Stage 4 has raised boost, increased timing, transmission mods with the least amount of torque management, removed speed limiter, and max power. requires 91 or 93 octane.
Stage 4 plus has the same as stage 4 only difference is in 4 plus the boost is carried out until the shiftpoint. All other versions of our tunes mimic the factory boost curve and taper off at higher RPM points. Stage4 plus is a RACE ORIENTED tune.

Im the same way about tunes. All I want is Stock, Or the most aggressive tune/highest boost I can possibly run on 93octane without Cats. :D

I just hope thats what Im running. lol Someday when the bike is done, ill sell my Programmer and buy a MyCal and Meth.

I didn't think there was either but their page for the 13 shows all of the stages as options now.  Oh nm, i found it in a wall of text "For the 2013+ Taurus... Also, our performance tune for these is most closely compared to our 4Plus tune."

Ha dalum I gave you a think you just because your SHO is BLUE and I LOVE MY KONA BLUE.LOL NOW back too the tune. All 4 stages of tunes were add together when the 2013's came out but early on there was still some talk about the 13's having different tunes but the only differents are in 91oct or 98oct the only 2 tunes for the 2013's( WILL THAT NOT ALL TURE? There a new V+4f or something coming out for all the cars soon)!!!!!!!!!

So I'll be looking at picking a mycal up soon along with an intake. When purchased they ship with multiple tunes right? And are they tailored to the mods that are on the vehicle or are they all the same ots?

My concern is whether or not i would need a full exhaust to run a 4+ tune. Or if the one you sent me would be geared for me only having an intake.

You do not need any (other) mods to run 4+.  Just tell them you have an intake.  They will send you a link to download the tunes after you send them the ECU info.  You can ask for a few different tunes, like 91 Octane for travelling, etc.  I have 4/91, 4/93 and 4+/93.

Oh yeah....
I have a 14 xplorer sport.
I got the Tstat, colder plugs, intake, my cal and the 3bar sensor for when the XV1 tune is available.(all from LMS)
Had a delay with install so, I just flashed my truck with the 91 performance tune!!!
Just stock with the 91 tune there is very noticeable differences...
It's sucks you back into the seat and really moves..
I can't wait to have everything else installed  and flash truck with the 93 performance with high boost option...and even better when the XV1 tune is released....
There are no stages for 2014 xploreres...

Placed an order for tune and t-stat today for my 14 explorer sport. Can't wait to see how she does.

Sounds good!  You're gonna love it.

So far I'm having a blast driving just the 91 performance tune...
Gonna run the 93 high boost once I install the Tstat, CAI, and colder plugs...
Your gonna love it..

It's like the twin turbo should have come stock..Way better performance..

Just piecing it together that the Mycal tuner I purchased from this forum will not work if I buy a 2013. Well that is a kick in the junk. Check out the for sale section if someone wants to upgrade their tuner.

There is a newer model 'MyCal' device for the 2013.

If you purchased a 2010-2012 model, then I would think the seller should've informed you of that fact (unless they didn't know?).

What may be a paper weight for you, is treasure for someone else (with the appropriate model year).

So let me get this straight. If I get a tune now with just my Airaid on the car and later I add catless downpipes, will I have to pay for another tune?

To put it simply, do I have to pay for a new tune every time I do an upgrade to my car that warrants a new tune?

Does the aforementioned fall in the category of "custom tuning"?

No
LMS will update your tunes at no charge whenever there are updates on their end or yours.
You just have to send them all your data again like you did the first time.
