Need your Guy's advise on who makes the BEST downpipes?

Anyone have PPE catted DP's and a stock exhaust system?

Almost - I have PPE NON-catted and stock exhaust. Zero issues and the sound is great, as is the improvement in low-end grunt

Well thank you guy's very much for all the feedback.  It looks like PPE won, I will be ordering my set TODAY !!!!!

See in MI there are no emissions, my interest in going with catted is simply to avoid the smell associated with deleting the cats. Also the power difference as Tom has mentioned above is negligible and therefore I don't believe tearing up the ozone is worth it lol.

Rich you wont regret it not only to the quality and performance of the PPE DP from 4DRHTRD but also the top notch customer service, and as busy he is of late he still goes out of his way to give you that support and assurance you need and responds to your Emails in matter of minutes.

I'll be getting the LMS downpipes soon. My tune is through LMS and will stick with their product recommendations. PPE downpipes are very good as well. Can't go wrong with either set IMO.

Any members installing DP or cat back Exhaust always order new gaskets and they are fairly cheap, its like changing the oil but not the filter, just my 2cent.

I'm looking to pull the trigger either today or tomorrow on a set of CATTED Downpipes for my 2013 SHO, I see livernois has them in stock ready to go.... In your Opinion, which will be the better CATTED downpipes for my car? I want the catted. because I want to pass inspection.  Thanks in advance guy's. I will be installing them this Friday ( have my buddy's lift to the day) along with my new Lowering springs.  Rich

We do have our Downpipes made and ready to ship. And as bpd1151 stated, we have not had any thrown codes either. We DO recommend that you tune your vehicle as well, as to make sure that you are optimizing the application of the add-on. Nonetheless, congrats on your new purchase! Hopefully the next time you decide to make a modification we get a chance to speak.

Had the PPE DP on for a while now and this morning put the car back to stock cause inspection expires at midnight, plugged in my OBD MX,torque app to check for Emissions readiness, just after driving about six miles everything was complete except for evaporative  system,o2 sensor and o2 sensor heater, basically pretty good for such short period of time and considering catalyst was one of the first to be complete and will go for inspection tomorrow.

Good job.

It is why I went catted in AZ.  Personal choice that it's too much trouble.

Drove stock for a little over 30mi and based on the torque app Emission readiness everything was complete and headed over to inspection station and passed with flying colors, just a little updated info for those of you that require emission testing and are worried about passing with CATTED DP AND STRAIGHT THRU EXHAUST,one more thing based on PPE DP AND LIVERNOIS DP are essentially the same DP,both use magnaflow cats and will pass, just my 2cent.

Good info.  In AZ the carbon number stamped on the cat (PPE & LME) is important to a visual inspection.... On top of the OBDII emissions system readiness.

I'm assuming when you guys say no thrown codes you mean with your updated tune file? I definitely had CEL until I put in the updated tune. I think this should be clarified so that those looking into just buying the dps and exhaust should be aware they will also need to get the tune, no way around it. I had multiple exhaust cels until I got the updated tune. I was personally told on the phone before I made my purchase there wouldn't be any thrown codes, then when I said I had multiple cels after install, I was told I needed the updated tune, so luckily for me I had purchased that as well. Maybe it's different with the Taurus? Either way I was told no cels then I had them and only fix was to tune.
That being said, since the updated tune file for the dp, I have no cels, oh and it sounds bad ass haha

In April. I called them afterwards and specifically asked if they had sent me the wrong pipes and if they had a newer set because I was saying I was not going to pay for a brand new set and that they should send me the new ones that don't throw codes. I was told that I 100% absolutely, positively had the latest dps and cat back and they weren't making any changes to them

When we mention no CEL OR DTC codes basically its intended when a tuned vehicle with DP'S is returned to stock [factory settings] and no codes are set.

Thank you for the clarification on that.
Going to go a little off topic real quick but I feel I need to say it.
These types of responses is what makes this forum so great! Nice clear answers in laymens terms for those of us who aren't the most mechanically inclined. I have been in other forums where people jumped at the opportunity to say how uninformed someone is. I've started to look at my vehicle like my computer (I'm at least a little knowledgeable with computers)There are all these different components that can be upgraded to gain a little bit more performance, but eventually you'll run in to a bottle neck from one of the components until you upgrade that as well. There is the motherboard (engine) and the processor (ecu), video card (exhaust), memory ect. The motherboard is only capable of handling so many upgrades until the entire thing just needs to be upgraded to handle better equipment. You can change out the video card (exhaust) but if your processor (ecu) isn't capable of handling all of the instruction from it you're going to gain a little bit of performance, but bottle neck where it starts to get more than it can handle or what it isn't programmed for. You can change out the memory (air intake) but if its not feeding enough information (air) to the cpu (ecu) then you're once again at a bottle neck.
I think of it like this, I already have a pretty fast computer. I know I can buy different components to make it even faster, I don't know the exact intricacies behind why it makes it faster but I know the gist of it. I just know that others have figured it out, done the work and offer the parts for sale. I like how you guys are able and willing to explain these types of things to those of us who might not know how or why something works, we just know we want it because its proven to make our stuff moar awesomerer.
I know that wasn't the best example, but for me it works
Thanks again

That's why we buy products other people make :)  Though it would be interesting to think what the world might look like if everyone was designing and building on their own.  Quite the patchwork, I imagine!
