New 2011PP SHO Owner

Hello Everyone,

Earlier this month I traded my WRB 06 Subaru STi with 122,00 miles for a 2011PP SHO with only 6,000 miles.  Dealer gave me full value for my STi since it was excellent shape and basically just gave me the SHO as a one for one swap (Sucker!!!).  Well I'm glad I found this site and hope to contribute from time to time.  I still debating whether to get the Ford ESP or mod.

Welcome to the community, Z, great deal in trade!  Quite a few mods & how-tos through this site, if you want to go that route.  Check online for your best ESP deals (floodfordesp.com, zeiglerfordesp.com, etc.).  Hope to see pics of your old & new rides soon :)

Are you telling us you traded a 2006 sti for a 2011 sho even up?

Almost, I had to pay about 1k out of pocket.  I got 19,500 for trade in, plus the dealer paid me an additional $500 for my V3 AccessPort and $1000.00 for my new tires.  I talked the dealer down from $25,500 to $22,000 out the door.  Basically the dealer had just received the SHO in from an older guy that day that bought a fully loaded Kia Soul (yeah I know the guys must have been senile).  They hadn't even finished the inspection on the SHO, when my wife and I were driving by and saw the car on the back of the lot with no resale sticker.  (side note:  wife kept telling me I needed to get rid of my loud a$$ car, told her "only if you find me a low mileage SHO would I do it, LOL, go figure).  We drive the car, I fell in love, my wife fell in love, wife wanted to drive the SHO home, I said, "I have the keys, and only after you pry them out of my dead hands".  Needless to say, took 2 hours to do the paper work and I was out the door with a barely used SHO and the new car smell still lingering in the interior.  (Their loss, my gain).

That is a killer deal on a SHO.  Welcome aboard. Can't understand why they would give you $20,000 on a 8 year old sti with 122,000 miles.  What are they going to try to sell it for?

Buddy of mine has a 2013 wrx with stage 1 upgrades. He is very disappointed every time we race....

You will love the sho

So....dealer actually gave you $21000.00 for your 8 year old Subaru with 122k miles including doo dads....all I can say is "wow". Oh yeah, and welcome!

Edit: I just did a nationwide search. Retail for 06 STis with 120k to 125k miles are retailing for 16000 to 18000.  To get what you did on a trade in is amazing.

Newbie probably purchased from a Kia Dealer, where an old man traded in his SHO for a Kia,the Dealer probably charged the old man top dollar for that Kia??And low balled him for the trade in,maybe thats why they gave Z top dollar for his trade in?

No idea, but the STI was sold the next day,  some 17yr old begged his rich daddy to buy it for him, I've seen it parked over in the high school parking lot.  No wonder the insurance for STI/WRXs is so high, every time some teenager wraps his car around a tree/telephone pole the rates go up...
