Tranny shifts super fast and very firm.  Uses 6 speeds in the quarter mile and when you back off and brake, it does rev matching downshifts.  It is the best transmission I ever experienced.

Glad they still make the 5.0.  Partial to that sound

The 5.0 sounds good and the videos do not really do it justice.  They lack the low end torque of the turbo V6s though.  A 3.5 SHO or even my 3.0 Continental has more punch below 3000 rpm.  The 5.0 is at its best between 5000 and 7500 rpm.

Might explain why you felt the differences at the track.
