My SHO has been running great with the 93V7CW 3bar but I just sent my e-mail request in for the V8 :)

I'm excited, and I'll be sure to post up the results ! That occasioanl 1-2 non shift is annoying seems to be better when I have turned off my traction control before a hard launch.

e-mail request send from last name Smith. I'll be waiting !!!!!!!!!! ha ha

Put a few more miles on the v8 before I really ragged on her.

This doesn't feel like 10 whp. Especially peak. Maybe 10-15 more, linearly. Pulls hard as hell.

However, and I'm not sure which gear, but there were some...limitations occurring.

Hit WOT at 50 mph, drops gears hard. Cool. Hammers up to 80 or 90 mph, where at 4500 RPM or so, acceleration began to slow considerably. Not transmission related, as the RPM slowed as well. Felt like a nanny. like maybe throttle was being limited or retarded timing, due to knock sensor activity.

Did a few dumps from a dig too. Felt awesome. Smooth as well. Love the shifts.

Brandon did you get my request for the 93v8 revision?  As of yet haven't seen it sent.  Emailed from cobrarichie@rtconline.com

I know we have a huge influx of requests (last I hear about 190 in the queue, not counting what we have already sent out) so it might be a bit longer than normal for an update, but they are working on getting them out quickly

I've gotten it.  Need to put it in and go drive.

Well that doesn't sound good.

So it pulls hard or is having problems or both ?!

10 wheel hp sounds really good. We will have to see at the track.
IHeartGroceries check your throttle body for excess oil, after giving her the beans at higher speeds. Just curious, I had a similar situation in the past.

is it a secret or can you tell us what has changed to be able to get us more performance with the same mods? and can you explain to [no shift] just trying to learn about your tuner and where your guys are heading with these up dates. i guess im just used to cobb tunning i used them for years and they never came out with better tunes it was just what you get unless you go get a custum tune from them. so im just curious thats all

I honestly don't know the specifics, but I know it's been something we have been trying to address ever since the 13's came out. I remember the day we got our taurus that it had this no shift problem every once in awhile. As did our Explorer. Both when they were completely stock and not even begun to be modified.

This is the problem with most aftermarket companies, their inhouse R&D stops, and then they are just reactive to customer's input and demands. Yet another reason why we actually purchase these cars so we can continue pushing the envelope.

so will you find out what horsepower and torque numbers are? I like to know where im at so when people ask me i can tell them and i like to know for my self as well. i could go get on a dyno and find out but dont want to waste my money until i get a custom tune and since you guys tune from one you have to have number to share.

I just updated my MyCal tuning device with the new files. Is it safe to assume that 'Tune 3' is the 91V8 tune and 'Tune 4' is the 93V8 tune? Thanks for the quick response to my update request LMS!

that sounds abot right.

the tune specifics aren't in the name of selectable tune ?

When you go to load the tune, the MyCal should have a better description.  I think the updater just calls them 1,2,3.

Yep, they showed up as 91/93 on the tuner once it was hooked up to the car. Installed without any problems, haven't driven it yet though. I'll probably put some miles on the tune before I start pushing it. Thanks again LMS!

updated the Explorer this AM with the 93v3 tune, same as 93v8 for the Taurus.  Needless to say, I emailed them back for shifting tweeks and more hp for the Taurus.  The Explorer definitely feels stronger than the Taurus now, probably still isn't but the shifting is so much firmer and direct.

Possibly isolated issue to my SHO. It occurred, then I was able to reproduce it immediately afterward. But these are speeds 60-90 mph. I haven't been in a position again to open it up to those speeds.

I'm going to throw some fresh premium gas on top, and give it another whirl.

But, drove it alot last night at speeds less than 50. A few WOT launches up to 55 or so. No hiccups all night. Felt awesome.

Haven't monitored any PIDs yet though. Too lazy.

I just loaded v8 and there's a noticeable reduction in hesitation at WOT. The hiccuping issue is all but eliminated and the car seems much more smooth on acceleration even over the cold weather tune.
Thank you LMS!

Quick update after doing a little driving on the updated 93 tune. This version 8 tune seems to be a step in the right direction. I no longer notice any hesitation at WOT either and the car seems to pull good under all driving conditions. I saw 12psi readings on my Torque app on this tune and I was seeing low 15 psi reading with the previous tune. Maybe boost was cut back a little on the updated tune?

Here is a graph of a quick pull to about 50mph this evening -

I'll be interested in the LMS answer... But based on better performance you saw my bet is that the engine is producing the needed/requested torque at lower boost... Which would be a major step in the right direction for engine tuning and turbo life... kinda raises the potential bar too!

Hmm; I have the original 93 Octane tune from when the car came out. I've contemplated trying this new tune but not sure I want to. I've been able to pull off 12.5's with what I have, got no issues, no CW issues here in PA from the winter storms. I don't want to lose any power due to the tune.

I may email them and see if they can load up the new tune but keep the old ones on my device. If the new one doesn't suit me, I don't want to lose it.

You will still have the old one on your computer so you can swap them out anytime you want on your tuner by hooking it up to your computer. Plus it holds 3 tunes so you can put this one it and still keep the one on that you are running now.

I have a MyCal; there are no files on computer. I hook it up and it contacts the LMS server and pulls the tunes; as far as I know--it's not like an SCT where they email the tune file.

I emailed LMS; waiting to hear from them.
