No 3 inch aftermarket exhaust?

Hello all, I just picked up my 2010 SHO a couple weeks ago and I have been searching for some exhaust but it seems that all I can find is 2 1/2". Does anyone offer a full 3" exhaust for the SHO? Or am I going to have it custom made? Thanks in advance.

Over kill .... No need for it with this engine .

You really think so? Ive always ran a minimal of 3" on any turbo car I've had. These are 10:1 if I remember correctly along with turbo's on top of it. Can never have too much air flowing on a turbo application IMO.

And how did you come up with this assumption?

Yeah not needed, and I doubt there would be the room to accommodate 2 the 3" pipes. Definitely not the down pipes. But to answer your question, no one makes a 3" system for the car.

Yea def not getting 3" dp's in there, at least not with the underbody shield.
And I also dont think you could dual 3's under the rdu properly... hell the 2.5 is tight.
Ford is 2.25 and flat spotted in that area.

Hmmm, I haven't got a good look underneath it yet to see what the clearance issues would be.
Im putting my H&R springs in tomorrow so I will do some looking around while I'm at it.

Performance benefit aside, I'll bet it will be very loud and droney.
Perhaps too much for such a classy car.
Though, I agree, there's no such thing as too large a diameter exhaust for turbo FI.

I don't think you need a 3" exhaust, after all, the exhaust manifolds for each cylinder are only slightly larger than a US Quarter, so 3" is probably overkill.

We do not see a need to run a 3in. Unless you are making 500+ Whp. A 3 in. exhaust can actually hurt performance if you're not at the correct power levels. We recommend the Corsa 2.5in. cat-back exhaust. They look and sound great with no drone. We have them in stock and ready to go!

overkill and will probably hurt performance and be too loud. I didn't even put 3in on my 1968 F100 with a 7.2L :)

2.5 is just fine....

Does anyone besides Magnaflow make a full Catback for the Flex ?

If you do the math, including resistance to flow due to friction with the wall of the pipe, it makes you start thinking about larger single pipes in the central part of the exhaust.

Another member on this forum mentioned this to me via an exhaust system similar to the GTR's exhaust.

maybe why some early LS engine GM F-body Camaros and T/A's came with single exhaust. Doesn't sound good though :)

Agreed!… so spit it at the back to twin tails… The whole exhaust is a giant x-pipe also

You've got to think of the size of the turbos. These little things aren't punching out enough air to need more than 2.5

I run 3" x2 on my G35 set up, and it's overkill. But the turbos are pretty moderate, and I wanted to be spoolin before 3k

This platform will never have that issue no matter what turbo's someone squeezes in here

PLUS-- there's always cutouts mate.
