Okay so brought my car home and installed 3 bar map.
I try programming with the x4 and it gives me an error stating
it can't pull off the original car tune.
any ideas?

Glad you got it figured out. Creating a signature in your profile with all applicable details to your ride will help fellow members out greatly when trying to troubleshoot any issues going forward.

Enjoy the new power!

You got robbed, that shouldn't have been more then 2 hours of labor max.  The back side plugs can be a little bit of a pain but certainly not as bad as some of the other transverse engines I've worked on.

I heard of Ford dealers charging double or in some cases triple the amount due to overhead, fluids, disposal fees, etc.  Z

I agree. He told me he charges by what the book says it takes.
even if it takes longer he charges the book which tells me he charges
the book price even if it doesn't take that long.
He charges 85 an hour.  I also got an oil change with mobil1 synthetic
so the total was 375.  I wasn't pleased and he took 25 off and put the
map on for free
crazy

I love it so far. Tomorrow I bring it on the highway.
The car itself just seems tighter...hard to explain
solid and firm.  I'm pleased so far

Glad you got it working... Enjoy!
Consider some those easier jobs as DIY... It takes a tad longer the first time but the parts are  < $100 and 60-90 min of your time... That's a significant amount of modding or PM money to be saved. Folks here are glad to help you do these things.
Again... Enjoy the new tune!

Thing is I supplied theparts .
So I was looking at the time log.
I got picked up from the garage at 3:30.
I got a call it was ready at 5:45.
The billable hours was 1.20 and 1.40 for the
tstat and plugs. How did they do the oil change
and those other things in 2 hours 15 mins but saying it took
2.60 for plugs and tstat

Do garages charge a flat rate for oil change...or charge for oil
plus labor rate?  way I see it he owes me like 75 back
Generally they bill time from what's listed in a book and not by what passes on the clock.

Yeah consider it a lesson learned, we have all been there at some point with something. 40 bucks and some time to do your own Mobil1 change vs $125.

The Ford Owners site regularly runs the 29.95 oil change+ special, worth looking into, if you trust the dealership :)

Is that for Mobil1 Synthetic oil?  Is that at a website or something?

So this morning on the way to work (highway travel), I put the pedal to the floor.  Man!  It's hard to explain but it's a very smooth acceleration, I got it up to 120mph which I've never done in the car before.  It was so fast getting there and smooth you could hardly tell you were actually going that fast.  I could have kept it going too but I got scared and backed off it.  This is using the boost unleashed 93 tune.  Very pleased.  The temperature was below the half mark too :)

Yea they charged me $89.43 for the oil change.

Thermostat install (which I provided) 1.40 hours at $85 an hour was $119
Spark Plug install (which I provided) 1.80 hours $153
Coolant replacement $14.99
Total $376.42    and they only had the car 2 hours and 15 minutes.  Jerks.

So total time listed is 3 hours 12 minutes.
They over charged 57 minutes.

So does one pay for AN HOUR LABOR which could include everything they did. Like say one was doing the spark plugs at the same time someone was doing the coolant.  Is it okay for them to separate the two and bill them separately?  There's also the oil change which takes atleast 15 minutes with it up on the lift and stuff so let's call it 2 hours they had to do both plugs and thermostat.

I know I should let this go but part of me wants to go down there and get an explanation.

I am glad you like the tune.  I am not surprised, though!    Tuning my MKS was the best thing I ever did with a car.

Not to be insulting or to pour salt in your wounds about service pricing but why didn't you ask what these services were going to cost before you had them done?  The plugs and thermostat replacement are easy routine services with a time allotment in the flat rate manual.  They would be billed separately because they are two separate jobs.  Any dealer or service facility would have told you what the cost was going to be prior to doing the job if you had asked.

Again, enjoy the tune and your SHO!

It just seems dishonest to charge a flat rate if the job takes less time to do in the end is my argument. You're right I should've asked what the price would be.

I would honestly be worried and upset if the car was not running right after spending that amount which is not to bad as mentioned earlier, dont let the negativity from being charged a bit high prevent you from enjoying your car and tune and unfortunately it has happened to many of us,lesson learned and time to enjoy a long awaited safe driving experience preferably under 120mph.  Z  :)
