I've been hit with a cease and desist letter from Ford's attorneys from using Ecoboost in my business name. I have to turn over any domains that I own with the word Ecoboost in the name as well so that includes this one and the ecoboostperformance.com that I just paid $$ to purchase.
I need some suggestions for domains that I can buy for this site/performance products.
Let me know what you guys come up with!
 
Wow that sucks to hear don't they have anything better to do they should work on their quality control check

I've heard (previous) horror stories from others, about how confrontational & antagonistic FMC's legal eagles can be......

No suggestions at the moment, but I'll try to brainstorm an alternative.

Are they, or did they, at least indicate their willingness to offer redirects to any new domain that's developed?

No redirects, no concessions as of right now. I'm trying to get a meeting with them tomorrow.

Ok, I'm officially bummed out now. Especially after all the recruitment work done to get us to where we are today.

I would hope someone from FMC Marketing would see the benefit of keeping this place, and all it's related posts, info, etc. intact.

How do all the other sites exist that use Ford car/truck names?  Do they have a copy right on Ecoboost?  You must be making too much money off of the name, they must be afraid you're going to buy them out  ;)

I think something that will come up when you search ecoboost would be the best, but who knows if you can use the words in a different combo or not.
 
This will not apply to everyone but what about 3.5L Twin Turbo. Really struggling with ideas here. I am assuming you can't use Ford or Ecoboost. Pretty important words to not use.

I can't reiterate enough, now that this issue has arisen, please show 4DR the respect he has asked for, and PM him any (new) suggested site name(s).

Any alternatives, if deemed too close for comfort so to speak, will likely just be added to the list.

Since this is under scrutiny, it's uber important to listen & adhere to 4DR's requests.

That's bogus. But I guess I can see Ford's point of view. They did actually create the tern "ecoboost." How about ***edited** (Please send your suggestion to 4DR via PM exclusively)

Perhaps Ford would prefer we replace the mfr name with F*** as well?  Sad, perfectly within their rights I suppose, but sad.  Good thing we have not chosen an official banner yet!
