plug question

LMS always recommends installing new colder plugs gapped at o.3o and to upgrade the thermostat to a 160 07 170 temp stat so your car stays cooler.

If I get a lMs stage 3 tune will I need plugs?

Nope, the 2014 has the correct plugs.  Just be sure the gap is .030 What part of tx do you live in?  I would suggest the 170 degree thermostat as well.

I am over on the back side of the woodlands fm2978

All due respect to the member with the answer nope the 14 sho does not need sparkplugs, its an important factor to take in hand and that is the production date of the vehicle, which is found inside the drivers door, cause if your car is a 14 sho it could of been manufactured sometime last year,so take that into cosideration,i would honestly remove one plug and double check to see if they are the new revised version SP-534 and proceed from there.

The SP-534 MotorCraft come pre-gap and FORD (MOTORCRAFT) SAID DO NOT RE-GAP!!!!! My brother-in-laws (who own there on shop) would NOT filler gage to check the new plugs. But the car ran great on a road trip to Tenn. and my gas milage went back up to 25mpg w/4 people and full trunk!!!!!

They do come pre gapped but not at .30 like it's recommended or at least mine didn't come that way. I bought my plugs couple months back and the sales rep said they are gapped so I should mess with them but when I checked them, they were between .33-.38 but I installed them anyway because I was sure the sales rep knew more than I did. The car ran good but it would idol kinda rough specially when the engine was cold. Yesterday I pulled them out and re gapped them and it feels better than when I bought the car. Idols like it's supposed to now!

I think the warning is there because it's all too easy to damage the center electrode while re-gapping.  Exercise caution, and all should be well.

SHOdded is absolutly correct, that pointy electrode is very fragile, basically like a mass air flow sensor, the electrode is very fragile and can lead to issues if touched.

The updates plug from my understanding is iridium tip in place of platinum tip. It is the same heat range (6#) so if you think the new plug is a colder range, your mistaken.

I'm going with the ngk 6510 plugs that torie recommended.  One heat range colder and also the fine wire iridium.  Even though my car is a 13 it was built early and had 512 spark plugs in it.

My 13 SHO PP was manufactured on 12/12 thats what it said on the drivers door jam,and it came with SP-528,which are platium.
