Random thoughts for the day

The SHO has been my DD for exactly four years now since purchasing it Brand New with 2 miles on the OD and has served me quite well over the years and exceeded my expectations from the hot weather in sunny Florida to the frigid temps here in N.Y and couldn't be happier to say the least...........................

I guess after spending the extra $$$$ for a Direct port setup the time has come to add an additional vehicle to the stable in the coming weeks so stay tuned to be aroused my friends.  Z  :)

Z, make sure you're a smarter business man than I am.  I paid about $20,000 for a 2008 Honda Fit with 190,000 miles on it.  It's my new beater.

Details of transaction...bought wife a new car and kept her Fit as a house beater/toy.

Lol... I sold my beloved Tahoe for a Ford Escort that my wife ended up driving...because she was afraid to drive the big SUV... I ended up daily driving the Ford Fusion.... I am still bitter about giving up the Tahoe...

Honestly, it's been a trip with this car... but this is how Ford should have built these cars (minus the meth)... it might have been comparable to the Buick GN had they done so...

The coilovers make this car really come alive. The tune brings the powah and the shifting right where it needs to be... I just don't know how Ford missed the boat so bad on this... didn't want to outsell the mustang maybe?

Hard fought improvements ... This gen SHO was introduced 8 years ago!  The Mustang would have had the same parts in a quarter of that time if not sooner.  But everybody loves a showman, and the Mustang is that showman.

I'd say that Ford has a long history of doing things almost right.

Every year of Mustang that I can think of has something that just wasn't right.

Fox bodies - drum rear brakes
SN95 - everything
S197 - hood latch
S550 - Chinese manual transmission

It's the penny pinchers that kill them.  I'd say that was true until the GT350/350R.  I think the engineers finally got to run the show for a bit.

Very true! But I see sooooooo many Mustangs (most of the time in my rear view at this point) that I rarely notice them at all! I contest that if Ford had done right by the SHO history (fastest four door sedan second only to the M5) then they would have been more of a success...

But I suppose the margins just were not there...

Not sure if this has been brought up before, but I'm bewildered by how dirty the door jams get in my MKS.  Especially the rear jams.

Been owning and cleaning cars for over 25 years and never had a car that needs door jam cleaning with every wash.  I keep them waxed to make cleaning easier, but boy do they collect the dirt.

I had a gallon of water inside my rear driver's side door making this swoosh sound because of this issue. Z  :(

LOL.  I try to remember to pull up on the rubber stripping at the base of each door from time to time.  Amazed at how much water comes out sometimes.
