Ah, birthdays.  The party poopers of all poopers, LOL!  Congratulations and big hugs to the little Miss Z!
MANU Much appreciated as she's officially a Teenager @ midnight.  Z

Test drove a loaded 2014 F150 FX4 Supercrew 3.5EB today.  Man I want a truck again.  Loved everything except the price.  It had all of the creature comforts of my Lincoln, but could pull my trailers and haul junk when needed.  Just have to figure out if it's in the budget.

Would need a tune of course :)

While I was car shopping to get a small list together. I had it narrowed down enough to take the wife shopping. You know women.......

We were at a Ford dealer looking at their SHO's. I showed her "Truck" prices. She was shocked.

I stopped and looked at a '14 FX4 ecoboost appearance package at a local stealership, and with 38k miles asking price was STILL $36k.  No thank you!

Yup!  That's the problem.  I think I need to wait for the next gas price hike.  Trucks, new and used, are just overpriced right now.  To duplicate exactly what I bought new in 2008 would cost exactly double now ($24k - $48k

To put that in perspective, a 2008 Mustang GT Premium cost $32k.  They are now $40k.  Far, far short of double.

Both of those vehicles had an equal change/improvements over the period.  Trucks are just overpriced.

:bigthanx: to Brian (BamSho) for the Methanol lead in the right Direction. Z  :thumb:
A wise man recently reiterated, that us Meth heads need to stick together.

Glad to see he has supplied your growing addiction accordingly! Bravo

I unfortunately been busy as of late and just realized i'm on my last pale of Methanol and hopefully some resources will come thru and just don't want to get stuck paying the high cost of Hazmet fee.  Z  ::nonono:

This weekend is a no-go due to prep of Daughters B-Day.  Z

Birthdays for the kids are fun! Hope you had a good time and spoiled them rotten! Have you called all the shops in your area? I ended up talking to around 15 shops are so before I was directed to one that sells VP fuels... took quite awhile to find one. Its about 35 minutes from my house..

Thanks man! I will have to make some calls and since its a moms & pops shop have the option to directly email them which hopefully is a plus.
I will certainly keep ya'll updated and will need to conserve a bit for the time being.
I guess with that being said will order an extra Pump from Julio @ Alky Controls.  Z

I found an interesting article regarding Methanol and its properties.  Z

http://biodieseltutorial.utahbiodieselsupply.com/buyingmethanol/

                                                    VP- M1
M1 Racing Methanol has a 99.95% minimum purity - the highest purity available in the U.S. With M1, engines run cooler and are less subject to corrosion. VP uses only lined drums which prohibit rust, corrosion and metal deposits that can contaminate fuel delivery systems. Recommended for all methanol-legal racing applications.

TYPICAL VALUES
Specific Gravity: .795 @ 60 ° F
Color: Clear & Bright
RVP: 4.60
Oxygen Content: 49.93%
Purity:  99.85% minimum

The four most important properties of racing fuel
You can't make a racing fuel that has the best of everything, but you can produce one that will give your engine the most power. This is why we produce different fuels for different applications. The key to getting the best racing gasoline is not necessarily buying the fuel with the highest octane, but getting one that is best suited for your engine.

1. OCTANE - The rating of fuels’ ability to resist detonation and/or preignition. Octane is rated in Research Octane Numbers (RON), Motor Octane Numbers (MON), and Pump Octane Numbers (R+M/2). Pump Octane Numbers are what you see on the yellow decal at the gas stations and represents an average of RON and MON. VP uses MON because this test method is more prevalent in racing. Most other companies use RON because it is higher, easier to come by, and sounds better in marketing messages. Don't be fooled by high RON numbers or an average -- MON is the most important for a racing application. However, the ability of the fuel to resist preignition is more that just a function of octane.

2. BURNING SPEED - The speed at which fuel releases its energy. In a high-speed internal combustion engine, there is very little time (real time - not crank rotation) for the fuel to release its energy. Peak cylinder pressure should occur around 20° ATDC. If the fuel is still burning after this, it is not contributing to peak cylinder pressure, which is what the rear wheels see.

3. ENERGY VALUE - An expression of the potential in the fuel. The energy value is measured in BTUs per pound, not per gallon. The difference is important. The air fuel ratio is in weight, not volume. Remember, this is the potential energy value of the fuel. This difference will show up at any compression ratio or engine speed.

4. COOLING EFFECT: The cooling effect on fuel is related to the heat of vaporization. The higher the heat of vaporization, the better its effect on cooling the intake mixture. This is of some benefit in a four- stroke engine, but can be a big gain in two-stroke engines.

gotta love the first cold morning of the year and find out the passenger side HVAC only blows cold air. good thing its a cheap and easy blend door

Wow....take the time to page through your manual, I found out so much more my car can do that I did not know or understand. Definitely worth looking through....
