Random thoughts for the day

Wishing a safe and happy Memorial Day to all!

Take a minute during your day to remember all those who served and sacrificed so that we can celebrate every year.

Bought a new camper.  First one,  hoping for some fun memories with the family and get back into fishing.

2016 Sunset Trail ST270BH.  It's a beast,  30' and 5500lb dry.  Going to pull it with Armada for now.  Looking for a $10K 3/4 truck to have as a beater and trailer hauler.  If anyone knows of any in good shape,  let me know.  Probably a big gamble for a 12 year old truck.  Should I stick with gas or go diesel?

Congrats on the purchase. That's always been a dream of ours, nice camper.

Looks like an ecoboost F150 might be in store...;)

Guys love the towing of those things with all that low end torque.

Rich

Yeah, they definitely are the best 1/2 ton to tow with!  I just can't give up my car for my commute.

You can get a 2004 Ram 2500 5.7 4x4 with 4.10s that is capable of towing almost 11K.  That's all I'd need.  Then can use it for a 3rd vehicle, move furniture, dump runs, etc.  Also can get a F-250 with the 5.4L. or the GM 2500HD with 6.0l.  Needs the gears or they can't tow as much as the wife's Armada (9K).

For that price I think the Dodge would be a safe bet. Might be able to get an 06-08 f250 in that price range as well.

This one gets my vote for now until I find a better one. I love the KR and V10

Going to look at the truck in a few hours.  Window sticker: http://fordlabels.webview.biz/webviewhybrid/WindowSticker.aspx?vin=1ft7w2b68bec30062

Nicely equipped F-250 XLT.  No body damage, just missing plastic piece on tail gate.

If it checks out good (A/C works, no leaks/rips) and drives nice on the highway at 70mph, I'm taking it home.  Hopefully can get it under $8K.  I think it's a safe gamble and will be a fun beater truck that will tow our camper.
