Rear Shade Issues

So I've had my 2011 SHO about 6 months now. All has been generally going well until today. I put the car in reverse and it darn near sound like someone is pounding on the trunk lid as the window shade shudders in the little cubby.

I did some reading and it seems this happens. How difficult is it to access the motor to unplug it?

Anyone have any other solutions?

I suspect the whole contraption will need to be replaced so just wondering what I am in for.

I know there was at least one TSB about the sunshade, but I believe it was just for rattling coming from that area.

Apparently the part takes a while to get. the dealer has had the car since Tuesday and the part finally arrived this afternoon. Thankfully its covered under the ESP.

Wasn't the correct part so we're on to week 2. It surely could have been driven, but its easier to leave it there than chase back and forth with multiple pickups and drop offs.

LOL.  I have this fear that the rear powered shade will be the first thing that breaks when my warranty goes out...

Got the SHO back today. All is well! I forgot how quick it was after not driving it for a week and a half.

If the shade goes, it sounds like someone is beating (LOUDLY) on your trunk whenever you put it in reverse whether the shade is up or down. If it didn't do that, I wouldn't have minded so much (plus its under the B2B warranty so why not?). It did cut down on my AM coffee when backing out of the driveway though...

Yep.  I remember that sound all too well.  We don't use it anymore for that fear it may go out again.
