SHO Noise Maker Pipe on XSport? - YUP :)

Does anybody know if the SHO noise maker pipe can be installed on an XSport with minimal effort? I'm looking to do AJP's boost regulator mod, but I don't have a noise maker port on the plumbing to my throttle body to attach a wastegate.

Looks like it's $100+ for the SHO part (unless someone has a used one), and I don't want to pull the trigger unless I can confirm it will fit.

If it does fit, perhaps the XSport part could also be an alternative "noise maker eliminator" solution for the SHO.

Ford P/N DB53-6F073-AA

It looks like the bend is approximately 30 degrees.

The linear measurements (3.25"/2.4") in the image below were taken with calipers at the top and bottom side of the bend to get a rough idea of the installed distance between the rubber hoses from the throttle body and CAC.

Hmm, I thought I found the XSport part yesterday for $65. Problem is, the full part number does not show up, and when you look up the short number (6F073) there are many (different) parts that show up.

It looked like maybe this part came along with the outlet hose from the CAC.

Here's an update on me replacing the noise maker on my 16 SHO. I first got this Xsport piece which was not correct

Sent it back and got this PI sedan piece AA5Z-6F073-C

Why the huge price difference is beyond me but thought I would help SHO owners out that wanted to remove that eye sore and a potential boost leak..You could also pull the noise maker off and try to cap it which I did but the cap blew off and not to mention it's fugly..

I'm still fairly confident that I can adapt the SHO elbow to the XSport for my AJP boost regulator. I'll keep you guys posted!

Well, as indicated by BlueSHO, the XSport and SHO CAC outlet ASSEMBLIES are definitely different. However, I'm happy to say, with a little bit of effort, I was able to successfully fit the SHO plastic elbow to my XSport.

The SHO assembly, however, CANNOT be used as received. As the SHO owners know, and as can be seen in BlueSHO's comparison photos below, the hoses on the SHO assembly have plastic molded clamps on either end of the elbow. The SHO elbow is also slightly longer than the XSport elbow.

The good news is that the 3" diameter section of hose (from elbow to TB) is slightly shorter on the SHO and longer on the XSport (by about a half inch).

Using a cut-off wheel on my dremel, I cut through the plastic molded clamps and removed the SHO CAC outlet hose and replaced it with my XSport hose and a hose clamp, leaving the shorter SHO elbow to TB piece in place (I did cut off the plastic clamp, though, and replaced it with a hose clamp). I was able to fit the SHO elbow with no kinks in the longer CAC outlet hose.

I would think (UNCONFIRMED) that one could easily do the opposite on a SHO, if desired, to get rid of the noisemaker junction. Using the new XSport assembly, remove the XSport CAC to elbow hose, and replace with your stock SHO CAC outlet hose. This would, however, require you cut though the plastic molded clamp on your stock assembly. All I did was cut most of the way through the plastic clamp, and using a large flat blade screwdriver, shoved the end in the slot and twisted until the plastic clamp separated. It's a little more effort, but will save ~$55 over the cost of the Interceptor elbow, assuming you already have appropriate tools to cut off the plastic clamps. :)

Now I'm just waiting on my welder to get back to me, so I can complete my boost regulator install! WOOT!
