Outside of my everyday career, I also have my own freelance illustration business. Click on the link below if you'd like to take a peek. I do a lot of vehicle illustration if anyone is interested, however I only have 3 examples currently on my website.

I draw using normal pen/pencil on paper. I then import my drawings into programs such as Adobe Photoshop and illustrator and then paint the artwork using a Wacom Intuous drawing tablet. The car illustrations are vector based artwork done in Illustrator. The remaining artwork are digital paintings done in Photoshop.

Pretty neat examples of your work/hobby.  Must be time-consuming though!

Definitely can be depending on the subject material and the client's deadlines. I just flip on some tunes, have a few beers and bust out some artwork. It's very relaxing. During the summer, I go to car shows and hand out some business cards and window decals and try so solicit business by doing car portraits for car enthusiasts. Cars & Coffee starts the first Sunday in May!

When you begin on paper, is it a sort of sketch/outline? You add color and detail once it is digitalized?

If I'm going to do a digital painting in photoshop. I will begin by doing a rough sketch with pencil & paper. I'll then scan it into photoshop and then trace my drawing and then build color and depth just as if you were painting on a canvas. Sometimes, I'll just start drawing directly in photoshop and bypass my rough sketch step.

If I'm working in Adobe illustrator, I always do a rough sketch and then trace my artwork using the pen tool. illustrator requires building layer upon layer. if you were to look at the "frame work" of those car illustrations, there would be thousands of lines going every which way due to the amount of layers.

If you click on the link below, it'll show the process I take on a few of my projects.

Pretty slick! Great talent. I hope it pays off for you.

I'm open to share some of my work? Or, is this strictly pertaining to your enterprise?

I have a Walter White I'd like share. I am team Hank, so I have a Hank as well. :D

Yeah man, post it up!

It's not often I run into other artists on auto forums. Especially portrait artist. Hell, I enjoy looking at art as much as I do autos.

I've got a W.W.

ASAC Schrader

And Boris Karloff as the monster.

Great looking work guys!

I used to sketch some stuff quite a bit when I was in my high school years. Now the only time I get in doing it is with my boys when they have projects at school to do. Nothing like this, but seems to keep them focused in if I'm there doing the same.

Excellent work. What is the medium? airbrush, charcoal, pencil?
I too love looking at artwork. You should start a profile on Behance...it's a more professional atmosphere opposed to Devientart.
