I know Ford says these turbos are good until 100k miles but what is everyone really seeing?
Front turbo had a ton of shaft play. No signs of anything passing through the turbo or evidence of engine wear in the oil. Tech who replaced them said it looked like it was "over worked" and "spun". I assume that is taking well passed it efficiency range to long and to often. The rear on was fine. I have a picture of the turbo I will try and dig it up. Front is easy to check take the IC tube off look for damage and feel for play with your hand.Gray Brick said:What went bad on the turbos?
