TCE Wilwood Brake Kit Front and Rear

Awesome to hear!

Now if we can just get the price points to be somewhat reasonable.

Last check I did (which, admittedly, it's been a while) the front axle alone was in excess of $3K!

Holy crimeny!

You should have clicked his link - $2197 each axle. Pretty reasonable, just wish I could get a set that would fit my 17's. :)

Todd at TCE Performance Products has a kit for BOTH the front and rear !!!  http://www.tceperformanceproducts.com/flex-/-sho/kits-23/

MY 2013 SHO with Both Installed

Your ride looks sick bro! Very expensive mod, but sure looks amazing. For me the improvement from the 2010 to 2013 OEM setup for brakes was already a big improvement. Your car must stop very fast and have good endurance.
Do you have any performance upgrades (done or on the list) to justify such an upgrade?

Thanks!

Corsa Catback with MBRP 5" tips ..... AirAid CAI.....

Livernois on the list next ..... not sure if I want to change down pipes or not ...

Although bigger brakes are always better, I'm probably gonna upgrade to the power stop cross drilled rotors and performance pads from auto anything when my brakes go. The way I look at it, the 13" oem brakes stopped my 3 ton F-150 very well. So the almost 13" brakes with good pads will work good to. The brakes on my 10' with 31K have been great so far.

I have the power stop. And I lover them. Not bad for $400 (fwr & back) plus I added steel braded lines a extra $165 very very good.

You can buy the airaid but you'll be better served for performance with the K&N filter (I even sell the airaids but have lost .2 in the 1/4 mile with them) They're great overall and a neat intake but not the best for track.

As far as the brakes I'd love to get some TCE brakes, maybe some day. :)

I would like to see a bracket made to mount a small standalone ebrake if possible. The rear kit is great and all buy I wouldn't want to do away with my ebrake entirely.

I'm with 4DR on this one.....

I know someday (I'll be adding this mod) to my list.

Definitely gonna need to, as i'll be creeping ever closer to the upper ends of the speed spectrum.

Just yet another thing to save up for.

I had one of his kits on my Marauder. I really wasn't impressed with the kit as a whole and I saw no gains in braking response or shorter distance. Maybe these will be better than our OEM setups, but in my eyes its one of those "Show Car" add ons.

I would be interested to see how they would do when tracked versus 2013+ PP brakes. I definitely wasn't let down by mine lap after lap of 130-40 braking. I could see a benefit in better pads, stainless lines, and an even better hi-temp fluid but I doubt I'll drop the money on a brake kit. From my experience rotor diameter and the ability to effectively remove heat plays a larger role than amount of pistons, to an extent of course. The TCE kits are only going from stock 13.85 to 14.25. They do obviously look far better , just depends on what you're going for.

Thanks to Kevin for taking the plunge, chance, time to work on the rears. We had to swap a few things to get it all wrapped up but he held his cool and we got it done. Customer support and input is crucial when you don't have a car handy and he was a big help.

To clarify a few things:
1. No, the price is not $3k per axle. (i wish) But a more reasonable $2200. With possible allowances for combo purchases.

2. No, the rear kit does not have a parking brake. That is due to the design of the stock system; a combo caliper use now. There are no calipers in the arsenal that will fit the new rotor and give us a parking brake. Nor does the Ford system use the more common drum-in-disc set ups that would allow such things (i wish 2)

3. The rear fit will require minimal grinding to the aluminum knuckle ears. This is simply due to the fit of the radial bracket. We'd have to make the brackets too narrow to allow them to fit otherwise. Rather err on the side of a safer part.

4. The kit are four pot front and four pot rears for proper balance and bias. The fit of W6A fronts will make the car a bit no nose heavy. Have no fear tho the caliper bodies are identical with either two or three pistons per half. And they share the same pads front and rear. Remember; its not about qty but area.

5. Right now I don't see a huge push on these kits. They are available to many and purchased by few. I know that..it's just part of doing business. If we ramped up a huge qty run the final cost could drop a bit, I doubt we'll see that.

I will try to try to stress to my fellow SHO owners that all  GO and no SLOW is not a good thing !!
Several of these gen 6 SHO's are putting out 500 to 600+ HP in these " bricks" and with only minor brake upgrades. ?!?!?!

I have noticed a HUGE improvement in braking power with Shorter distances needed when braking heavily  ......
THERE Is NO Doubt that is brake SETTUP IS A major improvement over the stock PPE setup !!

I amazes me that people seem to be more concerned with Dumping HUGE amounts of money in more HP with very little concern in stopping power .....

In time  I will do Engine MODS to include high flow catted down pipes and aftermaket turbo's with a livernois tune soon ; more once I learn a little  about other options .

Yea, I rreeaallllyyy want that front kit, with just upgraded pads/lines outback... maybe a 2013 booster setup oneday.

I don't have an ebrake on my manual mustang due to aftermarket brakes, so that's not a huge deal for me, but I am worried about response/pedal travel having 16 pistons vs 6 and using stock master cylinder.

A seat of the pants feel tells me that  pedal travel is the same or better (less) than stock .... much better stopping power .... engages more aggressively.
I am also using Wilwood hightemp 570 brake fluid.
