Thinking of switching to Unleashed...got ?'s

I have a myCal from LMS. Let me be very clear that I am happy with LMS. However, I have noticed transmission issues with the stage 4+ tune, which went away after returning to stock. And I did speak with LMS about it and they asked if I wanted them to adjust the tune. But adjusting tunes based on phone conversations/emails is not, IMO, the best way to go about tuning your vehicle. Wether I'm right or wrong, I believe that a dyno tune is the only way to go for reliability. And instead of making the trip to LMS (600 miles r/t for me) possibly multiple times to get my SPECIFIC application dialed in correctly, I'm wondering if going with Unleashed and data logging might be the best route for me. My ?'s are: how exactly does data logging work and how do I go about doing it?  Will I need a windows based computer to send/receive tune files? Again, not knocking LMS in any way. I just don't think my car will ever be as good as it potentially could be without multiple dyno runs or data logging.  Thanks.

Think you actually need a laptop to take full advantage of datalogging.

Good luck to ya. Many pros of it here to tell you the specifics.

What kind of trans issues did you have with the LMS tune?  Looking to see if the trans needs service or for some reason is at its' limit while stock.

They're both great companies, though that's the only reason I went with unleashed, the data-logging for protection.

(And the easy meth add on ;D )

Slipping out of gear, and rough shutter when up shifting at about 90 to 100 mph. And slightly rough 1-2 and 2-3 shift. But trans is fine now that I'm back to stock. Been a week now under same conditions and no issues. I'm not saying there was something wrong with LMS, I'm just saying the tune needs tweaking, and doing it over the phone I don't feel is the best way to go about it.

My only gripe with LMS is they won't work with any other meth kit other than the one they sell. I get it though and it's not necessarily a deal breaker, but I like my options.

You will need a laptop with SCT Livelink , SCT device updater, and your SCT x4. You plug the x4 into the car, then usb from the x4 to the laptop.

Once on the laptop you can either pm, email, call, or text me and I'll walk you through it.

Or

Call SCT.  They are open till 10pm on weekdays. You can allow them to install all the software and set up everything for you via a remote access system.

Hope this helps.

Did these symptoms just arise, say early to mid October?

They've been around on and off for the last 6 months or so, including some wheel hop issues in the very beginning. It's not a really big issue, nor is it necessarily 'something's broke.'  The tune just needs tweaking I'm sure.

I went to unleashed aswell. I fins everyone nice in a while I get that hard shutter going from 2nd to 3rd gear. I would really like to know what it is lol

Number of things to check:

1.  PCM is latest calibration from Ford
2.  Oil in plug wells / plug & wire condition
3.  Halfshaft check (2013+)
4.  Transmission (and PTU) fluid condition
5.  TSS/OSS sensors
6.  Cam Phaser(s)

Could run Torque Pro w datalogging on every run till the error condition occurs, and post that.
