Very cool, I need to start saving up.
I do look forward to more info on your driving experiences when you have more time behind the wheel.
As in the drop in boost as 4DR says he experienced.
I will be more than happy to report back. You know I always do.
I can tell you that on those two occasions earlier today, in which I did "lay into it" (about 3/4 throttle) I was purposely paying attention to my boost gauge only, and it tipped just a hair over 16psi.
With no ill effects.
I guess I'm leery about going full tilt into a WOT run/attempt, as I'd feel much more comfortable having everything "all dialed in" with a newer dyno file from LMS.
So I'm encouraged at this juncture to say the least, but will likely be erring on the (semi) cautious side until I do get my butt out to LMS once again.
On another note Chris..... I would
DEFINITELY start saving up for these.
Why?
Well, judging by the appearance of the caked oil, as well as fresh oil, all around the main seals (on both turbos) tells me in my very unedumacated mechanical proficiency, that by pushing these OEM turbos (somewhat close) to their "extremes" that a lot of us motoring around out there, especially those of us who enjoyed track time with our SHO's, that the OEM turbos at some point, are eventually going to fail.
So I'm inclined to say a lot of us are living on "borrowed time".
Don't construe that as meaning the OEM turbos aren't solid, they are. But with some of these newer, more aggressive tune files making their way out onto the market (no matter which vendor) I personally, am feeling a 100% more solid about having these new ATP's put in place of the OEM's.
And you can't put a price on that level of comfort/reassurance my friend. That's for sure!
