Ok i have a,15 pp im gonna tune. Whats the vote here.livernois or unleashed? I will need a 3bar i know that. From what i have been seeing the plugs should be ok?  TStat needed?

If you like to tweak and have access to a laptop you can data log with unleashed.
With a 15 you should have the latest plug revision but I would still check the gap.
Should be .30 if your tuning it. Tstat is not necessary but does help.

Good summary above. LMS can make adjustments for mods like all tuners, but they are based on the three SHOs they own unless you get a dyno tune from them. Again... If. You're in to tinkering Unleashed will datalog... So it's simplicity for 95% of potential vs. data logging and multiple revisions trying to get that last ounce of performance... Each owner has their own preference.  You'll love it tuned regardless of who you use.

Yes, you will love it tuned whether you go with Livernois or Unleashed.  I would love to do business with Unleashed due to the responsiveness to inquiries and customer service but I am not quite comfortable with the datalogging piece.  Others seem to delight in that part of it and obtain great results.  The Livernois tunes that I have received and run for several years have been excellent in terms of track performance as well as daily driver usability.

Not much but a laptop is need to log with the tuning device. You would upload a configuration file that would give you the correct parameters to log then do some 1/4 mile pulls in a safe area while logging. Then send the log to Torrie at unleashed. He then sends you an updated tune correcting anything that needed to be corrected and tweaking a few things to improve the tune for YOUR vehicle.

Im pretty sure you can log with the tuning device but it's not recommend due to lack of speed/resolution. But I suppose you could log with the device and upload to your desktop then to Torrie.
Maybe someone who knows for sure will chime in.

I am curious about this as well.  All of the how to's on SCT and youtube only show using a laptop for data logging.  The device itself does offer data logging, maybe it just can't log enough separate parameters or maybe there's not a good way to export the info?  Not sure...

From what I can tell you need a Windows laptop or tablet to get proper datalogs using the SCT X4.  The X4 plugs into your OBDII port, and then it connects to your laptop/tablet, so it can live record what your car is doing.

You also don't have to datalog with Unleased if you don't want to.  I've been running a 3 bar tune for a month now and have had no issues, and I have not yet sent in my data logs for a revision.  In emailing with Torrie, he said datalogging is optional, so you can "set it and forget it" if you'd like.

The best/speediest logging for tuning purposes will be through a wired connection, wifi and BT are simply not fast enough to keep up.

I ran 12.90 @106 with his 2bar tune last year with -0- data logs.

I knew someone would prove me wrong!!!  Still, I think there is more to be had with data logging.  I am just not comfortable doing it.  I would want it optimized for the quarter mile.  My closest track is 2 hours away so it would not be very convenient to go there to do it if I needed multiple revisions.  There are too many LEOs and too much wildlife in my area to do 0-110 MPH runs safely on the highway.  Even Mexico is not safe for me anymore although I have gone there a time or two....

Agree with Bruce.  I will do the data logging because I want it optimized, but I don't have a good place to do it either.

When I lived in FL, data logging would have been super easy.  There are tons of straight unused roads.  Here in N GA, I don't even have an Interstate nearby.  It's all twisty mountain roads with wildlife.  I'll get it done...just not sure where yet.  Might be an excuse for a road trip.

There's one more option, I use Erick@Leading Edge Tuning, great guy does awesome work and you can call him to talk about your tunes and do custom tunes for you. He has extensive experience from mild to wild.
