What is this sound?

It Could be a split pipe at the clamp but you can clean it up and monitor to see how fast it returns and proceed from there. Z
I would also check to see if there is any oil underneath the turbo .

The oil return line for rear turbo is leaking my friend and could be the Banjo bolt but would make an appt at your earliest convenience especially if you have warranty and keep us updated.  Z

Btw, that sound is there again, so it seems when the car is cooler its more apt to make that sounds. Also doesnt always so it on the rpm increase, but seems to always do it on coming back down to idle from revving to 2k

I was curious if there is any signs of smoke coming from tailpipes or odd fuel/oil smell?  Z

I haven't noticed anything myself, although my wife gets frustrated with my lack of smell so that doesn't mean a whole lot coming from me haha

Dealer just called.  Turbo needs to be replaced, it's falling under an emissions thing, so it's not even going under my warranty. Free of charge.  The noise my car was making was the exhaust flex pipe. He said that isn't covered under any warranty because its an exhaust component. He said the dealer can do it for $450 parts and labor, or I can just bring it to an exhaust shop.  I guess the dealer replace that whole pipe.

So since they don't care to cover an exhaust coupler with my 7yr 125k mi $0 deductable warranty I guess they can't say anything if I have some catted downpipes on the car next time they see it. Can someone recommend the best place to get ppe catted downpipes?
Thx

I had emailed him april 30th asking about some parts and I never heard back :( I may have landed in his spam folder

I know Mike has had some hefty family issues to deal with lately, BUT he did say in another thread IIRC that he was buying 3 or so PPE DP's to keep some in stock.  I will see if I can contact him, but there may be a week's delay, if you can bear with.

I don't even have my car back yet, so I don't think it's that urgent TBH.  I don't have exact details on that flex connector, I need to talk to the dealer tomorrow. I was driving around with it and only noticed a small clanky sound when I would rev it parked in my driveway, I didn't notice much as far as drivability goes

Is this install a shop install or a driveway type install?

It is def easier on a lift, but can be done with the car on ramps/jackstands.  Be prepared to blast the heck out of the studs/bolts tho.  OEM stuff gets rusted on.  Should take a couple of hours otherwise, from most people's experiences.

Like pb blast?  I have a little 12v dewalt impact but im not sure that would cut it. At least a few of the bolts will be new from this turbo replacement.

I'll prob have my guy do it for me, local mechanic at a pd i know has worked on my cars before and hes knows the ford sedans very well.

OK so just FYI, no reason to shoot me an email to ask for pricing, the website will do all of that automagically for you 24/7, no reason to email for that.
The ETA on the downpipes is also up there, approximately 8 weeks right now. I've ordered 2xcatted and 1xcatless pipes for my stock but I'm waiting for them to be made.
To say I am busy with things other than ecopowerparts would be a massive understatement right now, remember it's a hobby business that just pays for car hobby parts/expenses. I can't devote a ton of time to it but I do my best to keep up with everything during these crazy times in my life.

Ok thanks Mike, I'm not very active on here and I don't have a bead on whats going on. I saw something about you stocking pipes in a thread and I wasn't sure. There's plenty of vendors who never update their website.  I have no idea you do other things besides ecopowerparts. I'm busy myself, I have been on conference calls trying to sort out PCI assessment issues for the past few weeks while simultaneously trying to do day to day operations at a fortune 10 company, I was up till 2 last night waiting for a tech to perform a change that never happened after I had got up early to get my car into the dealer yesterday first thing when they opened so I wasn't late for the pile of work I had waiting for me.  You are obviously busy I realized you typo'd the first email response, I wasn't sure if you were saying "lead time to me" or "lead tone" as in a coating.

You specifically requested in this thread that I email you so I did. You could have simply said info is on the website and current.

FYI I'm a global network architect in IT for a fortune 10 company myself. Handling that, a wife with a terminal disease, a father-in-law who passed this week and trying to keep up with Eco Power parts has got me a bit overwhelmed lately. I'm doing my best to hang on while juggling many heavy burdening balls.

I'm just trying to offload some of the trivial tasks to my in place resources.
Sorry if I came off short, today has been con calls and design work since 5:30 AM my time with changes tonight and tomorrow that will last hours.
I'm just glad it's not wrestling season, I'd have to be in the room this afternoon beating up on teenagers. :)
