what to do with my 3bar MAP ?

so let me ask you this what would happen if you have the stock Map and are running boost at around 15-16? Any issues?

The engine will perform as if the boost were 14.5 psi since the OEM 2BAR sensor cannot read higher pressures (so the ECM doesn't know). It will run fine as crash states.

The issue would be the inability to access the potential power and the extra work the turbos were doing... for no other use than increased piping presures and higher turbo leak possibilities.

Hmmmmm...I wonder if this actually saps HP in the case presented? Nothing in physics is free.

I have registered a 15.7 boost on my car multiple times with stock Map via torque pro app after upgraded tune. If thats the case then it must be sensing the increased boost beyond the 14.5 psi

I have a tune from LMS I'll put it in and try it they are tweaking my tune to include my running a 3bar MAP.

this is what LMS stated about it....

The 3 bar map sensor allows for greater tuning capabilities due to the vehicle being able to recognize boost higher than 14.5 psi.  It is also a requirement for running methanol injection or upgraded turbos.  Your vehicle may allow for more boost if it sees fit.  The vehicles base boost off of torque on the ecoboost platform so every vehicle can vary depending on climate, barometric pressure and so on.

When I talked to LMS about an updated tune for the 3Bar MAP, albeit not XV1, they told me it would be worth ~+15 HP on the Explorer Sport.

Moreover, they were just as happy to except a return as well since the sensor hadn't been installed.

15 HP!?!  This I gotta see!  I'm hoping to get mine in today.

That's what they claimed. It easy to throw HP figures around but I have no reason to doubt their integrity. Let us know what you think.

OK guys!  Got the 3 Bar Sensor in and custom tune loaded up.  Runs like a champ.  I did a couple launches and a couple of WOTs from 50.  Felt really good.  I'll have to get the Nexus hook up next.  I am pretty much at my limit with perf mods now.  At least for this year!  Maybe.

EDIT-I'm going to wear my tires out shifting to second on WOT.

What kind of speed and rpm were you running at the 1st -2nd shift point?

Beats the heck outta me.  I'll check next time.  This time I was just feeling.
