What Tune to Buy?

Its so funny how some people on this forum still disregard the usefulness of data logging or even monitoring what's going on. I mean if I had a hesitation in the tune,I would personally want to data log and see if the fuel pressure was low or what exactly it was. Not just blindly install another tune and hope it fixed it. To each there own.

I went with Unleashed because they offer a TRUE custom tune. I have only had 1 revision done, but i have gained 1 MPG on my AVERAGE and ran a 13.5 with just a tune. The Flex still has a stock feel until you get on it and then its just a beast.

I think I have made up my mind... As Wilson pointed out, Unleashed is a quick drive from Tampa. So if I ever have any problems, Im not very far away. Also, the lower price point of Unleashed is better for me as my pockets aren't very deep. Im just starting small here, not looking to dump a boatload of money into my car at one time. I have deep respect for all of your cars regardless of tune and options. I didn't want to start an argument here, no need to bash others cars and tunes. I was just looking for some pros and cons between Unleashed and LMS and ask some questions. I see that a lot of you have 3 bar MAPs, whats the advantage of it vs the stock one? How hard is it/how much $$ would it be to install the 170 t-stat? Currently (stock) my cars coolant temp runs between 190 and 200 degrees and get up to 212 in the city, so I see the benefit of keeping it cooler, especially in Florida.

Definitely change the t stat .... super easy .
3 Bar Map allows  for  a little more boost with stock turbos and it let's  the ECU communicate with the components more effectively in a tuned vehicle .

Like you I was a bit hesitant to spend massive amounts of money I still had a few payments on. The LMS tune, I caught on sale. I bought new from LMS the MyCal tuner, 4 tune files, Airaid CAI, colder plugs, and 170 thermostat for $600. Was awesome deal for me. Especially since Christmas time and money was tight. If in no rush, maybe roll the dice and see if they have another sale as that one!

4dr LMS has extended the invite to you to prove the claims they make. When do plan taking them up?
Never, EVER

Hahaha, seems like you've had a little change of heart from when this was brought up:

So if I flew up there you have an ecoboost car you can show me these tests in person?
We would love for that to happen. Any time we can educate someone it benefits the community as a whole. We own 5 EcoBoost vehicles, so to say we will have one available is an understatement :)
I know you had a good number of other items that you were wanting to see our Data on, so it would be great. Will we show you how to tune? probably not ;) but we would love you educate you on how honest we are being.
Bummer too...I had my popcorn all ready to go for the meet 'n greet...

I have to admit, while I'm not one for drama, I do get a kick out of the fact that whenever a newb joins the party and asks "who's tune is best?" it ends up like this. LOL

4DR, I saw your additions to the TUNE page attempting an unbiased comparison, but maybe you should put a sticky on the new members page that says; "Don't ask who's tune is best...search or PM". ;D

Never, EVER

That's too bad, we would have loved to have shown you why we are so adamant on our standing as to why we do things a certain way, and how dangerously incorrect the datalogging solutions people are using today are on these cars.

We have never been against datalogging, we are against data logging the wrong parameters, and this is what happens today on every logging system out there. At the end of the day it's great that there are multiple options, we just have a philosophical difference on how we develop and tune vehicles.

We spend the time here with our own cars, developing all of the tunes for every strategy code in house, and then sending them out. This ensures the highest level of quality control out there and makes certain there is no need for logging. Does this mean that there aren't updates? Of course not, even FoMoCo releases numerous updates for car's and their calibrations just as we do, the difference is that someone can be sitting on their couch while we are doing the dirty work for them.

If I could get that deal for $600 that would be an awesome deal. May just wait till Christmas time to see if LMS puts up another sale like that. Im not against any of the tuners out there, wether it be LMS or Unleashed. I just want to find the one that fits me and my car best.

After a few months of comparisons I went with unleashed however both from what I have read offer superior customer service as well as tuning. You cannot go wrong with either. I went with unleashed for the price difference and am happy with it however their are alot of folks who are happy with their LMS tunes

I personally have an LMS tune, and have nothing but good things to say about the experiences I've had with them. That being said, the main reason I went with LMS is because I bought a used MyCal touch. From what I understand both tunes are very similar and it mainly boils down to person choice. I for one am sick of the constant debates and some people's mentality on this site. I would say either buy from Unleashed, because it's close, or wait until LMS runs a sale, I doubt you'll be disappointed in either.

THIS is the kind of CRAP that infuriates me about LMS .
Who exactly is writing this garbage , is it Anthony ?

A TRULY superior product or service will stand on its own merits and a true salesman wins customers based on the above .

It is HIGHLY unprofessional to use scaremongering tactics that LMS so frequently uses to try to demonize the competetion .

A true salesman NEVER speaks negatively about the competition but instead will emphasize what makes there product more beneficial or a superior option for the customer .

This is piss poor sales tactics to say the least .

LMS , where is your proof that data logging is dangerous and if according to you the devices are using the wrong parameters ; then what are the right ones ?

You at LMS may have a few more vehicles than Torrie at Unleashed does but I guess that you discount the fact that he does own a Taurus SHO , a Foucus ST and a Dodge Viper ..... all of which are tuned by him .

Its funny that I've never seen a post were he disses any competitor in any way ....

Talk is cheap. If I where you I'd be asking who has the fastest E.T.'s and who's tune they are using.

Agreed. And then my next question would be how many of those fastest E.T.'s live close enough to LMS to have been dyno tuned and not just use the canned tune you get via email.

what all is done to your SHO ?

we need to meet at the track mine is a LMS tune only and settle this debate ha ha :)

oh wait you don't have the performance package......lol

When I got my LMS tune I didn't know about Unleashed. That being said I have had exellent customer service and a good experience with LMS tunes especially their latest tune revision for my '13. However for the price and closeness to Unleashed I'd go there and get a dyno tune. I mean that is truly the best way to go in my opinion. Some will debate datalogging I guess but dyno tunes have always done me perfect, and I guess if you have the time / desire to datalog then you could. Enjoy.

by the way did I mention I got a 4 wheel drift in my SHO yesterday on dry pavement from a complete stop with new 255 tires on :) stomped it turning right woo - hoo !

THIS is the kind of CRAP that infuriates me about this forum... One company is not better than another because you say it is. I remember when this was a forum that you could get useful information from fellow members who all had something in common. Now it's a sales platform and a flame war between LMS and Unleashed. I said in previous post the OP would be happy with either tune. Everything I've read say people who have unleashed tunes love them, and people with LMS tunes love them. I'm sure even if I would have opted for an unleashed tune my position wouldn't change on this. I for one am done with this forum.

riskybusiness. ..... YOU are missing the point entirely .......

I have NEVER said that based on the PRODUCT that LMS or Unleashed has  , that one is better than the other .

My PROBLEM with LMS is the Way THEY consistently badmouth the competition and or anyone that disagrees with there approach .

What is so difficult in being able to comprehend this ?

Completely unprofessional on LMS' s side and my primary reason for not doing business with then .

Funny you say that, I'll be at Lonestar Friday night. For some reason I thought you had down pipes as well. Either way lets line it up and settle this sh!t, LOL. I'm sure the forum will thank us! :D

Very much a diss towards unleashed as there are only 2 players here in this  field .
