Which files?

Anyone know exactly which files in the PCM are changed with a tuner?  Will all traces of a tune be wiped out when I remove said tune?  I have a lease and want to show no traces of it ever having a tuner on it when I turn in the vehicle..

Don't think it is possible. It just looks like something happened with the PCM, like disconnecting the battery. I don't believe they will check if you turn it in off lease.

If they look they can tell the truck was flashed with something non factory.
You can't hide the fact that it was flashed from dealer.
Just don't give them a reason to look.

^  What he said.  Once you have a tune, stock will feel slow.  I thought it was worth the risk as did most of the guys here.

Ford can only tell how many times it was flashed, or how many times the battery was disconnected, not what was done, if stock tune is currently in vehicle.  They can also tell how many key turns (starts) that have occurred since last flash.

If you change tunes frequently, and or return to stock frequently, that is all they can see (that it was flashed lots of times)  If you have major repair costs due to parts failure, they will use that record to disallow your claim.  Otherwise you are good to go.
