Windshield washer pump - not running

Hi - new here, but have been reading for a while. I have a 2013 SHO, and the windshield washer pump has stopped working for the last week. Fluid is fine, and not frozen. When the squirters are tried, can't hear the pump try and run either. Temps have been high 30's, so nothing frozen. Anybody else have that? I know dealer can handle it, but HATE going there.

If it's not a fuse, and is the actual pump itself, I can't recall if it can be accessed by removing the lower (smaller) under belly pan, or not? :dunno:

If not, the front bumper clip would have to be removed, in order to access it, then it's just a matter of simply popping out the old, defective pump, and popping a new one in it's place.

Probably more work involved in just getting to it (the pump) then R&R'ing alone.

You may find water in the pig tail of the electrical connection if you should choose to perform the repair on your own..... it's location is just in a kind of precarious spot that causes moisture to travel up the loom from the connector.

Check the "How-To's" for front bumper cover removal, as well as a few of the methanol installs, as there are pics in there of the OEM washer fluid tank, and the pump for same.

Good luck! :ok:

I'm having the same issue. I was hoping some of us can recommend a pump to purchase out of the selection at Rockauto. Should I stick with Motorcraft given it failed once with less than 35k on it?

I would stick with the (oem)Motorcraft pump IMHO and try using the same blue fluid, think its alot safer than other brands that contain a concentrated mixture which ultimately can cause harm to the pump.  Z

Mine just stopped one day as well. No sounds out of it at all. So I just changed it myself. It's really quite easy, pm me and I can walk you through it if you need.
