World's Fastest Taurus SHO (take 2) 11.542 @ 119.49MPH

Hell, if both of them go to Atco, I'm sure they'll be in the 10s!! lol

Or better yet, meet half way in Denver and be happy to break into the 12's!

I'm hoping all this goodness SHOws up at the convention next year in Nashville!!!!

that would be great, can't wait for next convention, for me a very quick ride. for anybody on the fence about going. last years was my first & was just a pure blast. just to hang w/all the car guys in hotel parking lot was fun & that doesn't include all the events. although may not road course her next year, much to relief of kirk!!!!

There may be a drag racing day at convention next year, but still up in the air.  Mark you calender for 3rd week in July.  Its is a blast, and would be a good chance to get all the cars on the same track and same conditions.

Ok, so although there's a long, long history, as well as multiple rather entertaining stories on how this achievement finally came about, I've been told on more than one occasion, that I'm too "long winded".

Therefore, in a refreshing change of pace, I'll just keep this really sweet, short, and simple, by posting the following:

https://youtu.be/11w0yUlR87E

Now, in closing, I'm not naïve enough to believe I'll hang onto to this title for very long, but I'll relish in the 15min of lime light while I can.

Likewise, and although the "thank you" list is ever expanding, and (trying) to stick to my short posting.....

I'd be remiss if I didn't thank the following for their involvement and inspiration respectively:

Mr. Dan Millen, owner of Livernois Motorsports & his entire staff, info found at:
www.livernoismotrosports.com  or by phone at: (313) 561-5500

Mr. Matthew Hencinski, owner of Finishline Cars, & his entire staff, info found at:
www.finishlinecars.com  or by phone at: (815) 556-1006

Mr. Jeff Liu, owner of HK Media Chicago, & his revolving partners, info found at:
www.hkmediachicago.com  or by phone at:  (630) 280-1670

All of my fellow SHO owners, of all Generations, including Zach Wright for keeping my developing old ass motivated in the true spirit of competition likewise.

Thank you and enjoy!

Thanks for the love, brother! See you soon.

Consider that I still had a horrible 60 on this run.. Just imagine if I hooked them up... Maybe some day Mike and I could meet up.. ;)

The MPH difference says you have a TON more power than he does, the difference really is the track DA IMHO.
Time to put your car on a trailer and head to California to get some times. :)

I'll remind everyone that the record setting times I achieved was performed on my LOWER tune file of/at 525awhp, as well as on my daily driven, All Season Continental's DWS'.

Much respect to Jacob's 588awhp, but I still have more power in reserve so to speak Mike. 617 > 588.

Looking back through this thread, I still get a chuckle out of your continued discounting of the achievement's made on my end (with much assistance from Livernois Motorsports) by making comments such as "I think Jacob's car is .1-.2 faster for this reason, and Jacob's running more power, etc. etc." and I also understand the dynamic of you bolstering Jacob's car as he's your customer, makes sense. I get it.

The implication's, or inferences that Jacob's car is better for reasons X, Y, and Z is, and has grown pretty tiresome. I mean geezuz, let's move on already.

Ultimately, I believe both of our car's would be close. Having another 30 or so horse at the wheels waiting to go, may just be enough for me to eek out the difference. Who knows. Who cares. It's all in good fun which I think you overlook often.

We've both taken different approaches to our builds, and we both should be commended for the advancements to the platform as a whole. I know I'm impressed with Jacob's achievements.

I think the trans upgrades that Jacob is currently undertaking, will be of benefit to a lot of folks, who may also be waiting in the wings so to speak, to upgrade their own Ecoboost powered vehicles to take them to their next levels respectively.

In the end, I look forward to the challenges that lie ahead for us both, as well as any others who may eventually follow in our wake's.

Personally speaking, I know I'll be prepared to retake the title so to speak, assuming it were to be snatched away to begin with.

Continued successes to you and Jacob!

Damn! And from what I understand you are running stock internals and making that power with aux E85?

The stock motor on Jacob's car wasn't able to hold it together at those power levels. From what I understand, he's getting it rebuilt/fortified currently.

All I knew was the timeslips and comparing them.
DA is a huge equalizer and the MPH differences are huge.
I'm just stating fact and based off your response I'm correct. He is making more power in his config at the track vs yours at the track (comparing timeslips), I guessed around 80 based off of the MPH difference but I was off by 20, not bad for some drag racing math.
I would love to see you guys on the same track, the advantages to the MI track is GIGANTIC. If you guys are close in times with a Phoenix vs MI track then at the same track in my experience the Phoenix car will win.
The timeslip tells all, easy to read and judge what's going on just from that.
I said contratz right off the bat now that you're #1 realize that all things will be compared to your times. You now have a target on your back so that people can become #1.

No disrespect meant or stated, if I mean to say something specific I will definitely state it in my post, I have zero filter. :)  I won't beat around the bush, you're reading into my comments, I'm just making statements of math and logic with zero inference to you as a person. Comparing timeslips is just data vs data.

Some could compare the talk of Jacob's car similar to the extended period of time that people said your car should be the fastest before it ever went down the track.  People are going to be excited for whomever is pushing the limit at the given time.

BTW, I reread all of my posts and I don't see anything negative towards you or discounting your accomplishment in any way.
I think you might be reading subtext into my posts, again, I'm just reading timeslips and comparing.

I will continue to say this over and over again until everyone understands. If a car is in AZ making close to national record or record ET/MPH slips then it is MUCH faster if put on a low DA track. Do not discount DA in it's affects on a cars performance drag racing, add in temp differences and it massively adds to the differences on a boosted application.

Definitely, there is no discounting the magnitude of bpd's (& his SHO's) accomplishments.  :notworthy:  Wouldn't mind seeing these SuperSHO's someday owning the Texas Mile :)

When the record was set at Milan, it was between two rain storms and the track was WAY FAR from being ideal, and traction was an issue. It was cold, and the track personal had trouble getting the track prepped.  Also remember his time was set on Continental A/S tires, NOT DOT Drag slicks. So tires should of evened out the differences between tracks.  Besides that, both cars are AWESOME!  I thought I would never see a Taurus running 11's and still be driven as a daily drive. Now I of know 2 personally, plus Jaocob's.  Everyone should be proud of what these guys have done!!!

I totally appreciate what you're saying but the 60' on the slips says different about the traction and tire differences. :)  A 1.7X 60' is HUGE on these cars and it speaks to the track prep massivele, add in the cold and WOW.
.13 60' difference will net you .26 typically on the big end as a general rule of thumb from my experiences.

I used to think the DA was a bigger factor...then I went out in 83* and ran my best time to date then. A 12.40 with a 60' of 1.773....still puzzles me to this day when I've ran that tune and setup in 400 or better DA with cold temps with close results, but not better.

Side note to Jacob....BPD is working on getting that info together for those parts. Coming together for the betterment of the community!!!

I'm kind of a blast from the past on the SHO forum but I still check it out once in a while..I run at Milan all the time and haven't seen a DA near 500...EVER! High humidity here in Michigan and our DA is usually around 1500-2000 so I would say it's not as big of a difference as stated here. Well stated Bpd..not much love for LMS on the F150 forum either but hoping to change that. I say let guys yap as much as they want..the competition is fun though

DA information says different :)
I'd kill for your track's DA :)
1.7 60' in an AWD on street tires = my V on 19" drag radials here in AZ
The DA and the 60's are notably better than what we'll get here unless we get CRAZY weather and AMAZING prep which doesn't happen on open days.
I've heard stories of the way the track get's prepped for LMS events, I would love to get that kind of love from our local tracks.
It's $5K minimum to rent Wildhorse pass so that's out but Tucson would let us rent a weekday for $1200 HOWEVER the DA there average 4K ft, that's where I ran my 12.3 in my Flex at 5800ft DA.

This is what a 1.7 60' looks like BTW for those who don't race, it's QUICK off the line. Mine is a 1.71 and 305/35R19 drag radials vs BPD's 1.70 on street tires

Tracks not open here now either...when it's open we don't see that..believe me. Like you would love to see our track..id love to have your weather right now...always a trade off

Btw...I would never compare our 2 elevations..we have you hands down in that. However...if Jacob ran that at 1500..that would be near what Mike had here as well..that's all I'm saying
