I have a k&n typhoon. Looks pretty, sounds great, sucks at making power.

I know they only gain 1-4 or what ever

Heat soak is your enemy. Open element, metal pipe equals mod fail.

I have a prototype catback exhaust Im looking to get rid of. Currently there are no tips on it because I planned on swapping in some OEM mufflers to quiet it down. It's 2.5" piping which Y's off into a single 3" piping and Aero stainless resonator, then splits to dual 2.5" out the back with 2 Aero mufflers on it.

Aero mufflers are extremely free flowing which is why I was going to put OEM mufflers on it to quiet it down some. I'm letting it go cheap, even have 4.5" polished tips for it. Shoot me a PM with your email and I can send you some pics.

Since you already have it , have you ever considered building a heat sheild around it .. and then thermal coating all ?

Sure would be pretty .....

Could be the basis for somthing worthwhile  , maybe  ......

I think that's a good plan. My typhoon will wind up as garage art, or maybe a unique planter, lol....
