This is the reason why my Wife and kids walk from the back of the parking lot, where no cars are. Assholes will just ding your door, or worse off do that. Usually working out helps but i just seen those pictures again, and got even more pist.

Amen brother! ...and one side of the car always gets a curb next to it so only one side is offered to other's doors!

...away from others so jerks messing with the ride would be seen....

Yeah ... But  I park on the back 40 as well  ....

Wasn't close to any other cars at all  ... This  A hole went out of his way to do it ......

Feel for you man!  I got squirted with paint remover while parked in the back of a hospital parking lot a few years ago. Pre SHO luckily. 800 miles from home probably targeted my NY plates. Welcome to Indy stranger!

I bet $1500 is way less then half of what it's going to cost to repair. Would like to hear what your body shop says?

$1500 deductible? Ouch! But to reprint the car is one thing. You say it's down into the primer and metal. They will have to strip all the paint and resend the whole car where damaged for sure. Any other imperfections can be touched up.

I parked my truck years ago a ways off while me and my then wife went to movie. Saw some kids driving crazy in lot and watched them park next to my truck. Didn't think too much of it because they parked only for a minute and left. When I returned they had took a marker and wrote vandalism crap on my truck. I patrolled the neighborhood for a month looking for em. Would not have been pretty had I caught them. And I forgot the license plate when it was cruising the lot.

I'm probably gonna catch some crap for this but it has to be said.  Just another reason why you should not shop at Walmart.  Walmart is bad for the economy and bad for your paint.

I hope kbeck's insurance company will actually step up and do it right rather than just a local sanding of the defect and repaint!  The job should at least extend to body joints so entire panels are sanded and done.

Also... body shops and dealers are not really finish guys in the majority of cases... There needs to be a REAL paint correction, not the standard body shop polish which won't be close to new appearance.  That's what I posted about in detailing...

So Kevin... hang in there and get them to fix it right.  Your ride is definitely worth it!

Wow, that's too bad that some a-hole did that.  Sorry to see it.  Hard to believe someone would do something like that without reason.  But Lord knows there's enough mean people who just want to damage anything that's nice.  I know the feeling, the summer of 2011 someone threw a handful of stones at my car when coming home from the dive center, it dented the hood, chipped a wheel, and required the entire hood to be repaired and repainted. It was 10 at night and I still don't know why they did it, I was not exceeding the speed limit.
As far as the comprhensive part of the insurance, I'm surprised at 1500 dollars.  Have you checked what the cost difference is for a lower deductable.  Ours is only 100 dollars and it was only a few dollars more then 500, I can't believe there's that much of a savings having it at 1500....seems like your agent wasn't doing any favors for you if he didn't check the pricing before writing the comprehensive at 1500 dollars...
Hope you can get the damage repaired quickly and that the repair looks like new.  Best of luck with it.

Hopefully it will go through as a no fault claim so your rates won't go up.

not sure if this is out of line or not on the forum, but if you set up a paypal donation link, Ill throw you 20 bucks to help with your deductible. I know its not much but I do believe karma goes around. 1500 is a lot of cash to **** out at once for some on else's ignorance.

Certainly not out of line. I for one would have no problem helping out a fellow forum buddy.

But it begs the question where do the donations stop? Who gets monetary help and for what reason?  I personally think getting involved with money always opens up a can of worms.

IMO it's probably best to stick with donating our knowledge, time, referrals, experiences, stories, etc.

But I speak for myself alone, and if the majority decides to go this route, I got $5 on it.

Agree with everything you guys say.... IMHO, Let's let it be kbeck's decision whether to set up a paypal address... and each individual member's decision whether to help financially.

Thats what i was getting at, kbeck set it up if interested. as far as over shooting the initial 1500 I would be surprised and have a whole new outlook on humanity as a whole. not saying anything about the ladies and gentleman on the forum, just the way it goes. Even if every forum member put in a few bucks i don't think it would cover it all. I donate to many causes where and when I can. timing picks that for me, if i have it I give it if not Ill get the next one. Im nothing close to rich and have received help in my life, just like to give it back when I can.

Damn man sorry to hear that..why the hell would they key your car probably jealous cause its so bad ass and they can't afford it. Hope those priks get caught

Any thoughts of donations to help me are appreciated but not needed ...... lets put those efforts to fixing  ROTM guys ! ! !

Keying a car is as cowardly an act as you can get... mostly done out of jealousy and spite,or to get revenge on someone..I hope things work out for you..

If the term (you get what you pay for) is true, it definitely applies to the automotive paint industry. You can find someone to do almost anything for almost anything. My point is $3800 sounds like a good price. Make sure shop has good reputation and good reviews, one quick way to judge a shop is to look at the facility (clean and in-order) will tell you a lot.

I've got $20
