1/4 Mile Times Stock 2010-2014 SHO

Here's my best of a 3 run night.

I used to autocross but this was my 1st crack at the 1/4.

Stock with the exception of my K&N air induction warmer.

80 degrees and humid if my memory serves.

13.74
13.72
13.70

I assume the times were dropping because air temps went down as the night progressed, the k&n was heatsoaking like a b*tch...(130+)

This was the only run I lost....modded G35.

I gotta give the guy props, he got a pretty sweet hole shot on  me.

Cool!
However, I believe your trap speed is underestimated. 13.81 sec should see trap speed of about 102 mph.
For our car, here are the assumptions:
100mph = 14 sec
110mph = 13 sec
120mph = under 12 sec
So, for every mph faster, you should see ET dropping a tenth...

The lower speed was probably related to I backed off at end since I was out of highway.

Just like Johnny of WKRP, faster on the button when drunk :D  Nice time, Sean!

How are these cars averaging low 14's to low 13's stock, that makes no sense unless the car is capable low 13's stock but most drivers are not good? I know some magazines for 13.8, is it really much faster than that in the real world? Don't get me wrong I am glad but something seems off with the low 13's times am I right?

Are the 13+ maybe under-rated at 365hp as it seems its mostly the 13+ that run low 13's?

Fomocosho is running an e85 blend with stock tune.
I'm sure he'll be here soon to explain further.
Its pretty amazing what the 13+ sho can due with corn blending stock.

Just as a comparison I ran 14.1 @ 100 stock.

ah ok so that would be the advantage, they can run ethanol but we cant over 10%. makes sense now, didn't think it would make that big of a difference. Do they have a different fuel pump? I figured they all had the same exact engine from 10-14.

There is no difference between the model years as it relates to pumps &/or their ability to run corn.

This was discussed previously within this thread here:

Enjoy.

If you have a 2013, Ford says E-15 is OK.

Mixed with straight gas..

3 gallons E-85 added(13.4%) 91 users get 93 octane and better charge cooling.

3 gallons E-85 added(13.4%) 93 users get 95 octane and better charge cooling.

For states with oxygenated gas..(I have no experience with this)

1.25 gallons added gets you to 15 % but one octane point less for both 91 and 93

The LPFP is different on the 2013, other than that there is no change between gen 4.1 and 4.2

It actually says on the gas cap--"NO E20-E85" on my 12'' I am still waiting for my brother to go fill his cans back up so i can have him fill mine and will try and run a 15% blend. Mixing with 92 on 10% E

Mine is the same. It doesn't list E-15 but it doesn't say not to use it.

Ford has officially OK'd it in various publications.

I have read that 2012's were OK'd also so I'd say you are good to go since we have the same cap.

Since you will get a little Octane and charge cooling bump are you going to data log and tweak your tune?

Yes. I'll start with just the base 92 high boost and monitor pressure and if it looks good. I'll send off logs to Torrie and see what he can do with it.

Even if it doesn't look good, send it to him.

Torrie is a wizard with this stuff.....

Would you guys say 92 octane that has 10% ethanol mix would be better for our cars for performance/cooling than straight 93 octane with no ethanol in it? I keep going back and forth on this and just cant make up my mind. Please help lol
