AWD warning light

I was driving my sho today and I got on it hard out of a parking lot after shopping and I was spinning my front tires.  I got the warning saying awd was disengaged.  I assume it's some safety feature that the computer engauged because there was something not right.  What I want to know is what would cause it and what should it do to fix it?

I assume high temperatures might be a culprit and keeping my foot out of it too.

Was it driving fine afterwards?  After a tune, there is definitely a possiblity that the AWD will disengage because it doesn't sense enough traction.  What tires are you running, what pressure, and how much life?  If you brake launched, the sweet spot drops to 2000 rpm or below, and generally a brake launch needs a good road surface.

The car drove fine afte the tune.  The awd warning happened once before I added the tune.  It happened randomly.

Tires are Micky Thompson street comp.  They were bought brand new in March of this year and tire pressure is 35psi.  I have not done any launching on the car yet.  The road surface was smooth assault nice and dry.

The awd warning light cleared out about 10-15 minutes after it happened.

Were you turning the wheel and spinning the tires?

Seems that after a tune, the extra torque will trigger the anti-roll over BS...

Turn car off and back on usually clears it.

I waited to be straight before I smashed the pedal.  From what is read I know the traction stuff is overly sensitive.  Lol

I think SHOnUup is correct. If it senses something wrong or out of normal it will disengage awd to protect the drivetrain.

It could also be a sign that your PTU is n need of maintenance or replacing also. I'd check for fluid on it and the shafts leaving it.

Great.....That sounds like a pain.  Oh well it's gotta get looked at.  I've only had this warning happen 2x and one was before tune one was after tune.  In both cases the warning went away after 15-20 minutes or so.  I will monitor the situation and report back when I learn something.
