Blown engine-Replaced

Glad to hear everything worked accordingly without a hitch with a quick turn around and definitely post some pic's of that long block beauty, best of luck to ya and try to keep her stock IMHO especially with all the money spent, don't think its worth all the extra hassle especially with a 3 year warranty.  Z  :)

Here is a pic of the new rig. Lots of shiny new parts under the hood. Unfortunately it was very dirty under the hood. They didn't even wipe down the cover once done. So, I spent this weekend detailing under the hood (sorry didnt take an after, plus now its raining) Looks good again.

Only have 250 miles on the new setup and I have not pushed it at all. Want to get at least 500 to 1000 miles till I really push it hard. Highest boost I've hit is 5 so far. Didn't realize it would be that hard to NOT drive it like it should be. One of the biggest things is it seems jumpy at low speed with a touch of the throttle. But all is so for so good.

Did they forget to put on the hose clamp highlighted in red.  Z

Silly question but something I just noticed....
Did they put your throttle body on upside down?
Solenoids and other electronics are on opposite sides than mine....

Crap, I think your right. I did not notice it...

Here is a before (when I purchased vehicle) and today (should count as my clean engine bay pic too). Both have cover on.

Should I have it flipped? Should I do it? Thinking about the warranty....

That is really funny.  Not in the haha sort of way though!

I would have them change it.  You can even see the relief in the cover for the gears on the side to fit it correctly.  I'm actually surprised that the wires all reached with it bolted on wrong.  Wiring on these modern cars is usually pretty exact for where it will reach.

Have them double check the hose clamps while at it since they missed at least one.  Looks like sloppy work.

That's quite upsetting to say the least and personally get upset when they leave my oil cap upside down but IMHO make an appt ASAP and have them fix it cause there is also a fragile gasket between the TB and don't want to damage anything and keep us updated.  Z

I was thinking the same thing Z. Have the dealer fix it. It sucks having to take it back again but you did pay a lot of money for the work to be done correctly....

Edit: Damn I type slow lol.

And the oil cap in his picture is upside down too...

I did that, not on purpose, just took cover off and replaced it real quick. I always make it right side up...

Got Flex back today form the dealer. New long block and turbos installed. Turn around time was about 5 days. I also now have $500 in service credits from the huge repair bill.
Did notice that they left the VTA mod and did not complain about the CAI installed either. Under warranty for 3 years. I guess I will keep the mod list low until that time is over. Not sure if I want to keep my tune and tuner for the time being or sell it.
Glad I am back in the Flex, I really missed the ride.
What dealership did you use?  When I checked with Ford and having them do it, I got told by 3 different dealerships that the engine was on backorder?

I confirmed with Ford and the engine is TWO days out.  Z http://www.ecoboostperformanceforum.com/index.php/topic,6656.30.html

I have around 650 miles on the new motor. I took it real easy the first 500, just to break it in. Felt like grandpa driving around on Sundays... Now that that has passed, I've done a few WOT runs and man do I miss the tune. Now I can really tell a difference. Oh well... it is what it is. Been running good, dealer is flipping the throttle body as I type this. I hated spending that much money, but I feel good with the work and with the dealer where I had the work. I hope I don't have issues in the future, but if I do, I feel they will take care of me.
Thanks for all the help on here with this.

I'm just curious. You said, a couple times, that you were waiting to hear back from Livernois. Did they ever give you a price?
