That's where being into the ricer scene has its' advantages!  But frankly, most of the support is for smaller cars anyway, I guess they are less expensive to own and R&D.
 
I have a monthly payment equal to what I was paying on my mazda. Cost of time and labor  is pretty standard these days. I wasn't until two years ago that the speed scene was flooded with loads of immature cocky individuals (really don't agree with the "ricer scene" regarding the speed just yet but it's getting there). By that time most of the R&D was done. Now sadly its becoming the new srt4. Still the best car community I have ever been a part of.

I agree with him ^^^ I learned so much off there forum, and so much willing to help. They  have what they call a 'Nator' and i dont know how many times i seen picture of 'Nator' get togathers, where they were helping someone fix something, or install something. The only cost was food, or beer.

And i never owned a Mazdaspeed, my brother did, and i like to read. So i read for him. It ended up informing me on so much more on these direct injection engines, since ford pretty much designed there engine.

That car is still not 'ricer' in my area, the couple i've seen have kept it stock, minus power mods but i am sure as more awareness of the ability of that car come about, it will be turned into a GTI/ WRX/ EVO ricer car
 
So here are three things that need to be addressed:
1.)If you come on to an Ecoboost forum and start pounding your chest that the Mazdaspeed 3 is quicker, you are going to get some blowback.
2.) All claims that "I know my MS3 was faster..." or ".....my butt dyno tells me..." can be completely thrown out the window as that is really a best guess and not cemented in actually fact or measured results.
3.) Now here is the big one and don't let the facts get in the way of the truth. All of the following numbers are from Car and Driver and their instrumented tests (SHO figures followed by MS3) :
200' skidpad      .86g    .87g
0-60mph            5.2      5.8
0-100mph          13.0      14.8
0-120mph          20.4      21.9
5-60mph            5.6        6.7
30-50mph(top gear)  2.7        10.6
50-70mph(top gear)  3.6        6.8
1/4 mile            13.8 @102      14.4@99mph

The MS3 wins just one category and that is by .01g in the skidpad testing. More importantly if we were to look at the numbers that center around the OP's roll race and subtract 0-60mph time from the 0-120mph which would equal the time it takes for each vehicle to go from 60-120mph, the SHO wins again by only taking 15.2 seconds to the MS3's 16.1 seconds. We are talking bus lengths difference here.

All the data your provided is useless... The mazdaspeed has a limit to there first gear, it only does about 75 percent, and does not get a 100% power until 3rd. We were  at 30mph and he beat from his 3rd gear, and 2nd gear pull..
 
And what generation speed3 are you comparing? Dragtimes.com has stock Gen one speed 3s turning 14 flat quarter miles. There are big differences between the first and second Gen.

When I have some time to sit down and actually do some diligent research I will. I'll look top gear laps and things of that nature to get a comparison. All I'm saying is that your usual Street encounter on a highway will end bad for you. Unless you are 4dr... Lol

"All the data your provided is useless...." Instrumented testing from one of the world's leader in automotive journalism, Car and Driver, and you deem it useless. No more point in continuing this if facts hold no weight in the discussion.

I just gave you actual tested and recorded data from the same source, Car and Driver, utilizing the same testing criteria and you guys can not swallow the pill of the truth. Explain to me how Car and Driver's professional drivers ( very key point here when we are talking manual versus an automatic) can not wring out performance that bests an SHO, but somehow that all changes on the street.
 
What part of the state's do you live in? I could probably arrange for a friendly race with an equally modded speed if you are open minded to it.

They really do not. It was a 30 mph roll... None of the facts you provided take that into account. There was a 5mph-100, but that need not apply as he was not in 1st gear. The skid pad did not apply, quarter mile is useless;

Although I haven't participated in any part of this discussion yet, I have been taking pleasure in reading some of the jocularity posted thus far.

Just as much as i'll enjoy whoop'n one of these in my area.

Should just arrange it... Most the guys that have your kind of mods, are always willing to see how it hang to other cars.

I bet Mrgimp2u still checks in over there, as i have not in months.
 
Let's not forget that I traded that car for a sho... I had it for 4 years though, and feel obligated to defend it. Lol. I'm sure it would be the same here with everyone given a similar discussion with the eb cars and another type of vehicle.

For the record, I'm a big fan of plenty of platforms of cars.

I am by no means brand loyal.

Both foreign and domestic, including the one being discussed in this thread.

But looking at the numbers that SRT82ECOBOOST posted, and knowing that I'm already deep into the low 12's, with the 2nd set of ATP upgraded turbos already on their way to my residence...

I think it would be fun to look at the drivers face after handing out a punishment.

I would love to watch a BT mazdaspeed on corn run you from a roll. I know there is a few with the 3076 on corn over there
 
Kinda flexing a bit here. I ran neck and neck with an evo that ran an 11.8 on a 93 degree day. I actually began to pull a bit around 100mph. Stock turbo... But with e85 and meth. Every scenario is different. Just saying for some perspective.
