First Ecoboost in the 11's!!!!!!!!!!!

So happy to see that 11 seconds is possible without auxilary fuel upgrades beyond methanol. Hopefully we can also see someone pulll off the same feat without the upgraded turbos.

I am running stock fuel setup and yes meth.  There has been a ton of discussion on loosing fuel pressure at WOT.  I am not seeing that, but am using meth for additional fuel.  Through my entire run I stay on the rich side the complete run with no loss in pressure.  I am running Tial turbos which I am told are good for 30 psi.  We are only running 20-21 psi right now, so there is much room to move.  We plan on increasing boost and see how things go.

Thanks for all the congrats and hope to see more of you guys there.

Your supplementing your fuel system with Methanol has no effect on fuel pressures, either with the LPFP or FRP with the HPFP.  It only keeps A/F (lambda bank 1 & 2) within a safe range.  What are the minimal FRP numbers you are seeing?

When I was spraying with Methanol and using 3 bar sensor  and a tune that Torrie had cranked to nearly max boost with stock turbos, I saw FRP as low as 1,000 PSI.  Kenne Bell Boost a Pump helped raise that by about 200 PSI.  Lowest FRP for me was at the high RPM of 2nd gear.  After that the FRP increased, in part because the small stock turbos couldn't develop as much boost on a continuing basis.

With XV1 and good weather conditions, I should be in the 11.8-11.9 area for sure... But it looks like I'll have to wait for next year... We had a bit of snow today, so game over for the track this year :(

HA BOB I'm a electrician so this post is a little out of my field. So What is the FRP? Why is 1,000 psi low and 200psi is good? And last why does it change with RMP's? HELP!!!!

he is talking about fuel pressure post high pressure fuel pump. Stock, the system run to about 2150psi or so on stock tuning. Upping the boost can overwhelm the fuel system and the pressure starts to fall off. He added a boost a pump to the low pressure fuel pump and that helped get the high pressure pump up another 200 psi.

Congrats Mike!! I knew about it when it happened but I haven't had a chance to post something. Wish I couldve been there but I had a training I couldn't skip. I knew it was going to happen this fall. I was hoping to get to the track tomorrow since Mikes and my car are set up pretty much exactly the same, I know now that I can run an 11.

I think the coilovers really help and we just needed the cooler air. Also, like I have been saying for a while now, any type of added fuel mods wasnt needed. I realize you can say that methanol is adding to the fuel and I will accept that, but other supplements arent needed.....yet.

Shoman, to answer your question FRP is "Fuel Rail Pressure" that comes after the HPFP "High Pressure Fuel Pump" as noted above. It increases with RPM because its driven off the cam..only makes sense. My lowest fuel rail pressure this year has been 1560 under WOT and plenty safe in my opinion. In addition my A/F ratio is 10.8 and is pretty conservative..again in my opinion. Since Mike and I are running the same tune, I can only say that his car should be the same.

It definitely kinda sucks I couldn't be there, but Mike and I have been on each others side since the beginning so I happy for him. At least we kept in in the country!! (LOL, J/K Steve)

...lol
And I went for the last day at the track for this year today and beat the previous world record... But no 11's...
12.08 at 113.67mph... No upgraded turbos, with a conservative tune, no XV1. So I'm happy with it for this year.
Happy for you guys too to have made it in the 11's, once again: well done and well diserved!

SO theoretically could we substitute methanol for race gas?

I know when I ran my Evo, I was runnin 110 at the track while other Evos and Subarus with upgraded turbos and pump gas/meth were running slower than I was.
