First Ecoboost in the 11's!!!!!!!!!!!

They Darreli, First SHO  BPD & others are spraying 100% methanol thru a #10 nozzle ( calculated at 10 gal per hr at 100 psi).  My guess is their pumps are putting out 200+ psi.  Nozzle is located just in front of the throttle body.  Not sure what octane gas they(Darelli & First SHO are using at Milan.  Definitely 93 and perhaps 100 octane unleaded.  Darreli's FRP at over 1500 is very good.  I have seen much lower FRP's when I was running 50-60% methanol spray with stock turbos.  My lambda #s were between .80 & .82 which is around 11.6 to 12.0 A/F.  When I added a Kenne Bell Boost a Pump which up's the voltage to the stock LPFP (Low Pressure in tank fuel pump), my FRP increased by approximately 200 psi

SO theoretically could we substitute methanol for race gas?

I know when I ran my Evo, I was runnin 110 at the track while other Evos and Subarus with upgraded turbos and pump gas/meth were running slower than I was.
I was talking with a guy today at the track and he said that with his bmw, he was running race gas (109 octane) with methanol...
So, to replace gas with race gas and keep methanol could be a good solution for the track. But apparently race gas dries the hoses so it is important to fuel up with normal gas after... To be explored...

Congrats Mike!! I knew about it when it happened but I haven't had a chance to post something. Wish I couldve been there but I had a training I couldn't skip. I knew it was going to happen this fall. I was hoping to get to the track tomorrow since Mikes and my car are set up pretty much exactly the same, I know now that I can run an 11.

I think the coilovers really help and we just needed the cooler air. Also, like I have been saying for a while now, any type of added fuel mods wasnt needed. I realize you can say that methanol is adding to the fuel and I will accept that, but other supplements arent needed.....yet.

Shoman, to answer your question FRP is "Fuel Rail Pressure" that comes after the HPFP "High Pressure Fuel Pump" as noted above. It increases with RPM because its driven off the cam..only makes sense. My lowest fuel rail pressure this year has been 1560 under WOT and plenty safe in my opinion. In addition my A/F ratio is 10.8 and is pretty conservative..again in my opinion. Since Mike and I are running the same tune, I can only say that his car should be the same.

It definitely kinda sucks I couldn't be there, but Mike and I have been on each others side since the beginning so I happy for him. At least we kept in in the country!! (LOL, J/K Steve)
HA NO KNOCKING ON MY MENTOR!!!! ( STEVE aka "MASTER JEDI of SPEED") LOL. Thanks Darreli and way to go Mike. Darreli do you have Mike's traction control bar set-up on your car?

Shoman, I'm not using the traction bar setup, however, FirstSHO and my 60ft's have been very similar this season. I think the coilovers are the way to go honestly. He's running a bigger tire up front, but I'm still running Circle D's torque converter. Theyre not exactly the same, but they've ran pretty much the same this year.

As far as fuel, I usually run 93 octane at the track. This fall (meaning the last couple of weeks) I mixed a couple gallons of VP Racing MS109 (check out their website for specifics, but it's motor octane is 101) because of the winter grade fuel that's in our pumps here. We were actually at the track the week before but it started raining literally as soon as Dan uploaded the tune with what I believe was another help...lowered shift points. We were running up to about 6300rpm and we lowered down to factory shift points. It seemed to run better on the street and then when Livernois secured the track again I had a commitment I couldnt get out of and Mike (FirstSHO) luckily could make it and turned his 11

To be clear, the issue of limitations of the stock fuel system would nor be helped by race gas. Running out of volume, then the resulting pressure drop as a result, would not change. Math injection is doing two things here.  It is providing more octane, but more importantly, is supplementing fuel volume. The case wideband sees the commanded AFR, so it commands the fuel pressure and pulse width on the injectors to maintain. Take the math away and the ECU will attempt to increase pressure and pulse width to compensate and we over tax the high and low pressure fuel systems.

He also has sold the SHO as well...... so no longer an active member.

However Glock is correct, it was supplemented with 100% Methanol (VP Racing Fuels M1 to be exact).

Hope that's of help.
