Heated Seats

I hear mine cooling but not heating.

You can't hear the heating fan because you are too busy listening to that K & N Typhoon!  ;D  It is possible that the fan runs faster (louder) when cooling - not sure about that.

That could be.  I hear the cooling fan very clearly.

If you have Cooled seats, then the heated part is just hot air, not electrical coils.

One thing I noticed that helps, If you send some of your hot air from the vents down to your feet, its also sending hot air underneath the seat for the rear feet, this hot air seems to help the seat because thats where its sucking its air up to use to warm the seats.

I said the same thing for a long time. Then I tried really listening when the car was super quite (not running) with all possible noise eliminated and ....there it was!  Very easy to miss especially if you are used to the quiet resistance heating elements commonly used in seat heaters.

If weather permits in the saint Louis area, I might tackle changing the air filter in the seats. Does anyone here have the part #? I'm still waiting for my owner's manual from the dealer

Seems to be 7L1Z19E880A per the EBay listing http://www.ebay.com/itm/FORD-OEM-7L1Z19E880A-Front-Seat-Filter-/251433594877

Changing the seat filters is really easy.  Mine were very clean so I just used a bit of compressed air on them and put them back in.  Raise the seat as high as it will go and work from the back seat.  This is from the manual:

To remove an air filter:
1. Remove key from ignition.
2. Push up on the outside rigid edge
of the filter until the tabs are
released, then rotate the air filter
toward the front of the vehicle.
3. Remove filter.
To install a filter:
1. First, position the filter in it’s
housing making sure that the far
forward end is all the way up in the
housing.
2. Push in on the center of the
outside edge of the filter and rotate
up into the housing until it clips into
position.
