IT'S TRACK TIME!

Wellllllll.......

Who exactly CLAIMED (referring to the weather) that "it'll be ok, come on out"????

I hate to say it (well not really, haha)......

But the old adage "I TOLD YOU SO". Ha!

So incredibly sucks that today's ENTIRE track day @  Milan has been / was completely cancelled.

Only made worse by the fact that the rescheduled event for next weekend, I am unable to make, due to working.

Looks like those records will have to wait...... Yet once more.

***Sigh***

It was great to meet everyone. It just happens to be sunny and dry in Ann Arbor.....

Blasted weather!  Feel bad for all y'all, I know Mike won't be able to make it next weekend, hope some of you can though!

I really feel bad for all you guys that made the extra effort to attend, hopefully it will be better next time around with some cooler temp's. Z

Although it sucked not getting to run it was nice to meet some of the guys today. I also won't be able to make it next week. Way too much going on for the holiday weekend. I guess I'll just got to US 131 this Friday to make up for it.

Yeah, totally sucked, but can't fight mother nature, and yes you were right Mike.  Going to be some what disappointed trip back to PA.  Hope to see you guys this fall.

Yep...... I said it all along..... the old weather guru out by me (Tom Skilling) who's old as dirt itself, and is well, well renowned in weather forecasting circles, remained fairly steadfast in his predictions all this past week. Only Friday, late afternoon, did he lower his percentages from 80%/90% down to 60%.

Still a high threshold nonetheless, but I had no desires to disappoint. :nono:

So thus I decided to risk it, and take the chance to waste a total of 9.5hrs of driving and head out.  :drive:

Hell...... this is the 2nd time (in a row) that this has happened, where weather has caused the cancellation and subsequent rescheduling of a CAD event.

I'm beginning to wonder if I am the F'n jinx?  :dunno: :sorry:

Ugh. I swear.....  :pat:

Well. All that said, there's no one more disappointed than myself, as I really REALLY desired for all of you who came out, to witness 1st hand, what is slated to be THE RECORD SETTING, FASTEST ECOBOOST on record.

That title seems to be escaping me, and as much as I truly, truly desire to have Mr. Dan Millen pilot my SHO down the track for it's maiden voyage, as well as it's infamy into the record books, I must admit that I'm beginning to grow a lil frustrated myself.

I may just cave in, and be resigned to attending a "Test & Tune" at a local track near me, as I have so many to choose from, living in the Chicagoland footprint.

I mean hell, the Joliet International Speedway is less than 10min from my home. I can hear the funny cars and nitro dragsters very clearly on a warm Summer night when the windows are open.

Such a tease I swear to God.

Anyhoo.....

I really fell bad for all those like yourself Brian, who made even further trips then I, and also incurred the expense of hotel stays, etc.

Goodness.   :Picard2:

But for the nearly 4hrs each and every one of us hung out,  and tried to keep fingers crossed that the weather would clear up.... it apparently wasn't enough.

I did enjoy getting reacquainted with old friends, as well as having been blessed with the opportunity to meet new friends. All whom appear equally excited about owning their SHO's, as I do.  :thumb:

So all was certainly not wasted for sure.

Here's a few pics captured from the event:

Honestly, it's probably a good thing the event was cancelled, as I was sweating and feeling it running down my back, just standing their under the canopy it was so flip'n humid.

It would've been challenging for most, if not all of us, including myself, to expect anything outstanding as far as results. The DA I'm sure was deplorable.

So meh..... what ev's as the kids now a days say.

Finally, in and odd twist of fate.... nearly 30min after the official cancellation notice was communicated to the crowds at hand, there's was not one single iota of rain from the time we feasted at Big Boy's Restaurant, to literally my entire 4hr drive home.

Un Freak'n Real!

However, the flip side being, I think I caught nearly every damn bug that was flying around as I motored on home..... proof yet again, that yes indeed, my car does get dirty:

In closing. Thanks to all who not only made the effort to come on out, but also HUGE KUDOS to Livernois Motorsports owner Mr. Dan Millen, and all of his fine, talented staff, for doing all they did by ordering food and refreshments, as well as providing t-shirts, and what not.

You guys run a great ship over there, and I couldn't be any prouder than to be one of your customer's.   :alkashi: :beer2:

Well said Mike, great pics. Was really looking forward to seeing some great time slips from everyone.  Did anyone get an count of how many SHO's were there? Seems like that was the majority which is hard to believe.

I counted 14 and 1 MKS.

Close to 6 hours on the road for me to attend. Well worth just to meet everyone. Always fun to meet people with common interests. Thank you LMS. Fingers crossed for good weather next weekend, I got the green light from the wife so I will be attending.
