More SHO carnage :(

Well...my wife was driving the SHO yesterday in a snow storm and the roads were super slippery.  A guy sitting on the right hand shoulder on a two lane road decided to do a U turn right in front of her to go the other direction and she swerved to miss him and took out a fiberglass light pole with the drivers door.  The A-Hole kept going but clearly saw what happened.  Thankfully two good Samaritans stopped and one had managed to get the guys plate number.  Another person apparently called 911 and reported the same thing.  Thankfully my wife was driving very slow due to the weather so it was a low speed crash and she is fine. Needless to say the police are busy tracking him down.  Sadly apparently all he has to say is "I didn't see her hit anything" and he doesn't get charged with leaving the scene of an accident and I get to pay my deductible while they go free.  So moral of the story is - hit the guy!  (Just kidding but honestly it makes me angry I have to deal with this now) The car isn't driveable because the door won't shut but honestly it's pretty much just the door and some paint blending so I guess it could have been worse.  The window didn't even break!  Now I'm dealing with insurance companies and have to hope they are willing to go after the guy on their own.  Anyone ever deal with this before?  I've never had someone leave the scene before...

Will post pics in a second from Tapatalk...

OMG, ouch.  Glad your wife is OK.  Basically you cant fix stupid or kill it either.  It seems to be all about me anymore and get out of my way.

Disgusting!  Amazing how many drivers are totally oblivious to anyone else on the road.  Hopefully, the SHO's damage is just cosmetic and can be fixed good as new.

Thank god the wife is o.k is the most important factor, unfortunetly cars come and go but people dont, best of luck to you.

I was taking a second look at the pic.would be great if it only needed a new door, and hopefully no chassis damage.

Turns out there is some lower rocker damage but very minor...thanks for all the support everyone.

Glad to hear the wife was ok. Man that had to freak her out hitting something directly on the drivers door.

Good find. Looks exactly like that show car. Same wheels and tires. Spoiler looks to molded for the lights.  Sad thing a show car was destroyed. The rims look to be cut on purpose. Wonder if it was used for fire rescue training as the roof looked to be removed by the jaws of life.

Looks like a se or sel model. Notice the manual lumbar adjustment on the seat. The limited and SHOs are all electric.
