New PB but not quite promised land...

I don't clean my tires, but I do take the longest way possible through the grounds to staging. I run all season Continental DWS, nothing exciting there either. I have a couple 116 mph time slips from Sunday, but crappy 60' from experimenting with tire pressures and tune changes. Just got to be too many people to make it worth my while beating the dead horse... I will try to sneak out on a week night and do another impromtu track day. lol

Nice runs, what was the outside temp? I just ran this past Friday. Couldn't break 12.5's outside temp was mid 60's iat2 temp was 155-160 also. That kinda killed it also

It's frustrating. Once IAT2's hit 150, it's all over trying to get a pb. My tune starts pulling spark at that point.

Great job though, and I hope that 11.99 becomes reality soon!

Here is a side by side comparison with my personal best. It was 40 degrees outside, and iats didn't go over 127.. that was unleashed tune. I have ajp doing the tune now. I have no mods other than tune and k&n drop in. So I am not expecting 11's but a 12.2-12.3 would be cool.

Yeah, I run 12.2's and 12.3's in those conditions. For whatever reason I am usually finishing my runs in the 130* range, even when very warm. So much has to do with the staging lines. Once it gets too busy, I bail. No sense pounding my car if I have zero shot on beating my PB times.

My iats were in the high 150's low 160's in the lanes, it was kind of pissing me off. I think this tune has more in it with some lower temps

You can, best I could squeeze with basically no mods is 12.2's and that was in conditions like you are currently running in. So at 40* with AJP helping, you should be there. Traction becomes issue for me when it is cooler than 60'ish. I have never raced under 50*

The iat spark compensations are pretty substantial in my tune so at least I know 12.68 is the worst possible scenario and I'm pretty happy with it. Not bad with 100 degree ambient and 170+ iat2s and just a tiny bit of KR. Corrected that day was 12.2x.

The only thing I would worry about in the lower temps is fuel pressure... While the IATs are gonna be lower your fuel pressure is gonna take a hit... Something to keep an eye on...

EXACTLY!! That is what happened to me on my fastest run actually! It shifted into 3rd and got real bitchy! LOL So I dialed down the boost for the rest of the runs, and that worked great.

I have had my fuel pressure drop to 700psi before... Car didn't skip a beat..
But I would hate to be at 700psi and start knocking... That would be very bad.. nothing to help dissipate the heat..

mine skips under 1000, and it is like clock work. I watch it happen real time. If it stays 1100+ I can run it as hard as I want.

When you say skip, could you explain what you mean in more detail and was it anything you could see in a log?

I think i may have experienced this as well.

You can feel the lack of fuel for a split second, or at the track Sunday more than a split second.... LMAO!! On the log it just shows rail pressure drop. Plain as day, and always recovers fast. For me its really only on 2-3 shift

If it was truly a lack of fuel shouldn't we go lean in the logs?

I've seen 700 before as well but no matter the rail pressure, neither SHO has ever gone lean.

It leans out a little but never past .85 the way we have my tune set up for fueling. And doesn't knock during for whatever reason. I will see if I can dig up a log for you guys. But you can feel it, and its ONLY on WOT and only for a split second after a shift after the boost spike.

That makes sense that I wouldn't see it since my WOT target is .85

I will say this, we obviously have been working on this issue, and have targeted .85 and it did not fix the issue. I thought it would free up the pump a little commanding leaner, but it only got me too close to edge for my taste.

Have you looked at your LTFT and STFT ? If you feel it hesitate that could be your fuel trims maxing out, and your AFR may not show that happening.  Check your throttle position to see if the car is closing it up...

I have been having a similar problem on my E30 tune. My 2-3 shift the throttle closes and you hear the tial BOV dump and then takes off again. I had my 2-3 shift dropped 200rpm to see if that helps but haven't tried it yet.  My logs show rpm max at 6100 to 6300 but I played it back in slow mo and I swear my tach hit 6500 in video.  I'll let ya know if that does the trick. We are stumped on it. Side note I pulled a ZL1 Camaro 35-120 gettin on the interstate. Lol. If only he knew I had a load from Home Depot. He wasn't happy. Haha

Mine does this also... pressure drops but doesn't lean out enough to cause a problem. But it does skip like this when the pressure drops for that split second. 700-800 psi I think
