Noisemaker Delete Plug - Dorman 02602

For anyone wanting to get rid of the noisemaker on the SHO, the quickest and simplest way is to pick up the Dorman HELP! Expansion Plug, p/n 02602 from O'Reilly Auto Parts.

Mine popped off because I did not want to over tighten it. Came up with this idea. Tighten away.

I will try this but I know I did not tighten it too much because I was afraid of splitting the Noise maker runner plastic. The rubber prolly constricted a little too.

I don't have a noisemaker anymore, but mine didn't want to stay in originally when I did put the expansion plug in. I took a pick and scuffed the inside of it all the way around, making diagonal slashmarks. That seemed to keep it in there for close to a year without issue.
