Random Pics o' The Day

Looks sweet!

Do you like the power window buttons high up on the door?
I thought it would be weird be I don't mind it. They are using the door lock buttons and headlight switch from our cars. So that's kinds cool.

I love the dual pane roof as well. I'll get some pics of all the new gauges too. Finally a boost gauge.

I wish Ford would get rid of the shifter in the middle console.  Put buttons on the dash or a column shifter.  Allow more storage in the center console which I always welcome.  Same for our SHOs...

After looking around on the truck it looks like they, stepped up their game in the turbo pipes. A lot larger diameter for both sides.

The intake is redesigned as well. I like it.

Bigger than last year?  I think they have always been bigger than on the transverse 3.5.

Way Cool!

Tried out the lane keep assist. Pretty impressive. It keeps the truck centered in the lanes. Even if you steer it way off course it brings it back.  If you go over the lines several times you get this message...

its a super tight fit. I had a VW Phaeton that had the W12 motor with out the turbos..and that was tight cant imagine how the TT W12 motor fits.

Lookin' good!  What was your pad/polish combo?
Thanks! Truthfully, I'm going about this in a time consuming, round about way. The clear coat that's on it is horrendous. Worst I've ever seen. It was resprayed sometime ago, clearly by an amateur.

It NEEDS wetsanding and a buffing. There's enough clear there to bring it to a truly excellent finish. But I'm not an experienced wetsander. Not on final finishes anyway.

Anyhow, I settled on my DA polisher at high speed, with Carpro denim buffing pads (claimed equivalent to 2K grit), with Menzerna FG400. A buff with foam and M205 and finally M26.

Sadly, this really isn't enough. There's more material to remove. But the DA isn't enough. These pads were designed for a rotary and I really thibk the best results are only achievable with one.

Anyway, it's turning out okay. Much better than what was there.
