Random thoughts for the day

I've driven my car about 1100 miles this year.  So that's 1100 miles on an oil and filter change, trans drain and fill ans Redline LWSP gear oil in PTU and RDU.  Am I crazy for changing it already?  Oil ans filter I'll definitely do but should I leave the trans and gear oil?  I just drive it so hard so I'd rather just change it ...knowing I did all I could

PTU and RDU are good.  I do a 5 in 5 out trans swap everytime I change my oil however.

I like that plan.  I'll do that!  I know the mileage is minimum but for peace of mind I'll do the oil and trans fluid.  I'm equally hard on the brakes.  I'll need to change those next year.

Honestly I would change the RDU every other year, and PTU yearly.

I figured a 1000 mile change was extreme.  🤦

The RDU is only seeing limited use, however the PTU along with the trans is taking the brunt of the work load.  I am changing my RDU bi yearly, and my PTU yearly regardless, unless I see more then 8k miles in a year.  That isnt likely. There is extreme maintenance, and then there is just pissing away money.

Was watching youtube and I saw this pretty cool roll racing video of a nice assortment of cars running on an oval track. They ranged in power from 600+ all the way up to 1500hp monsters. Made me think if we only had the transmission and PTU upgrades, maaaayybe we could get in on one of these races sometime!

Also had me thinking what numbers a built 3.5 ecoboost motor could handle if the transmission and PTU would hold up.

Here is the video of the roll race: https://youtu.be/mm7sXsUo2kE

BTW, Turn the speakers or headphones down first because the intro may pop eardrums haha.

Someone needs to snag it

Nice ride not a terrible deal either. But honestly I’d rather slam my junk in a sliding glass door. Then buy another ford with the sync 2 system. God that thing was terrible in my old Sho.

Luckily, DIY'ing Sync3 upgrades are quite commonplace nowadays.  Under $1,000 invested, with some help from Forscan for configuration.
